Los Angeles Grand Park and Civic Center Discovery Walk

Los Angeles Grand Park and Civic Center Discovery Walk:

Socially paced, 3 mi rt. with stops to talk about the history, art and architecture of the area. We start our adventure in the new, beautifully landscaped Grand Park (“The Park for Everyone”) stretching from City Hall to the Music Center with a gorgeous renovated fountain and surrounded by 1950s civic architecture.

Our stroll gives us a look at buildings such as The Los Angeles Times, LAPD Headquarters Building, Department of Transportation, St. Vibiana’s, City Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall and more.

Take the train! Meet 9:30am at entrance to Civic Center/Grand Park Metro station (Red and Purple Line) on Hill St. in Grand Park between W. Temple St. and W. 1st St.

Exit the station from the Temple St exit. If you exit from the 1st St exit, walk north on Hill Street towards Temple, halfway up the block you will see the other station entrance across the street where we are meeting.

There is also parking in the area in public parking lots or on the street.

Optional lunch afterwards at the reasonably priced Colburn School Cafe.

Approx. 3 hrs. Wear walking shoes. Bring water, snacks, sun protection. Dress appropriately for weather.

Co-sponsored by Sierra Singles and the West Los Angeles Group. Level: Easy

Thanks to everybody for showing up... I enjoyed myself! My next walk will probably be of the Echo Park neighborhood, don't know when yet!
