O: Walk with the Monarchs of Goleta
Each year around this time thousands of Monarch butterflies descend upon the eucalyptus groves of Goleta to overwinter. They hang from trees like leaves until they can flutter about as the sun shines. Bring the kids and join us for a 2-3 mile mostly flat walk in this magical eucalyptus grove and on the bluffs nearby. Learn about this majestic butterfly and what you can do to improve it's survival. Bring walking shoes with good thread or hiking shoes, water, snacks, hat, camera. All minors need to be accompanied by parents or adults with written permission from the parent. Meet us at 11 am near the trailhead. Rsvp at outdoorsygal at sbcglobal.net for location. Leaders: Silvia Darie, and Jeff Wilson.
Outing is sponsored by the Little Hikers group of the Sierra Club. Sierra Club requires all participants sign a liability waiver.
