4 mile round trip, 1000 feet of gain. Join us for a relaxed pace, but invigorating morning hike up through a shaded canyon and down a ridge with spectacular ocean and city views. Leaders will provide info about the Wilderness Travel Course (WTC) (http://www.wildernesstravelcourse.org/) which begins in January and covers topics ranging from safe mountain travel and map & compass use to wilderness first aid, and more! Meet at 8:30am at Temescal Gateway Park fee parking lot (from PCH, up Temescal Canyon Rd until it ends, with parking lot visible on left just past Sunset Blvd; free nearby street parking may also be available).
