Welcome to the North Texas Environmental Meetup! The group was created by Diana in April 2006 with the goal of creating a community of eco-consious people to discuss issues and exchange ideas on ways to minimize our negative impact on the natural world. Members are encouraged to take leadership on topics of interest to discuss or coordinate events. Generally we have one discussion meeting per month and one event per month. So far we have held quite a few discussion meetings and events (such as viewing "An Inconventient Truth", touring a "green" home, participating in the Trinity River Trash Bash, planting trees at Arbor Day, touring the experemental WalMart, etc.). George Morris is doing an excellent job leading the group while Diana is working in Austin. Please come to our next meeting and bring a friend if you can!
Focus areas discussed in the group are:
Waste Prevention & Recycling
Air Quality Improvement
Stormwater Pollution Prevention
