This will be the 4th time we have done this walk!
Need to car pool - is out Coalgate Way. If we did it in an afternoon we could maybe do dinner at the Horarata Pub, that was fun last time.
WHERE IS WASHPEN FALLS
One hours drive from Christchurch, Washpen Falls offers unique outdoor recreational facilities in a breathtaking natural setting in the midst of a working sheep, cattle and deer farm.
STUNNING ADVENTURE WALK
This fascinating walk starts at the Old Washpen Woolshed and takes you through an ancient Volcanic Canyon which is now a reserve filled with lush native bush and wonderful birdlife. This unspoilt area is easily accessed via sympathetically constructed tracks, stairs and board walks.

At the top of the climb you are rewarded with fabulous views across the Canterbury Plains to the sea. As you descend back down the canyon the track takes you alongside sparkling spring-fed creeks and stunning waterfalls, creating the longest tributary of the Hororata river.
A rustic covered shelter beside the lake blends beautifully with the surroundings. This is an ideal spot for a picnic or morning and afternoon tea. The facility provides a festive atmosphere and makes a wonderful venue for a catered function such as corporate dinners, company team building, birthdays and anniversaries.

What we normally do as we meet at James and Danny Place 37 Edmonds St (Woolston) have a coffee and a bit of a natter then we organise the cars, both James and I can take about 10 people between us! It is a good idea to text Danny telling him you will need transport [masked])
If you could just give your driver $10 dollars (per person) this is for the return ride and helps keep it affordable for all.
So you can start coming from 8:30 AM as that is when the coffee machine is on! We get away sharply by 9 o'clock so we can meet the others at the Yaldurst Pub Car Park 9:15 AM and more people at Glen Tunnel community centre by 10:00 AM
Otherwise we will meet you at 10:00 am at the Glen Tunnel community centre.
Message us or text Danny on[masked] if you would like further details :-)
