When confronting a traumatic life changing event or major illness, knowing you are not alone is very important. Support can mean finding understanding, ways to cope, or to feel more in control. At epilepsy portland, we have created a safe place for those touched by epilepsy, including family, caregivers and friends, to find community and the support needed to move forward.
At our meetings, everyone has the opportunity to ask questions, seek counsel and find comfort from shared experiences. And when interest is shown, or when new treatments, research and advancements in the field of epilepsy occur, we invite specialists to our meetings so we can stay informed and ask questions. We also make time to do things together socially and participate in the support and educational events organized by the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest.
Due to COVID, we are meeting virtually on the second Thursday of every month. Once the dust settles and it's once again to gather together, we will resume meetings in NW Portland, next to Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Epilepsy may introduce disorder to our lives, but it should never seize our voice. We would really like to hear yours. Come check us out, we look forward to meeting you. To join our meetings, simply find the ZOOM link in each of our events.
