Tech for Good Live vs The Climate Crisis.

Federation House

The world is (literally) burning and there are plenty of us working on solutions, and more of us who want to know the best thing we can do to help. Let's get in one room and try to work on some things together. This is a little different to our usual events, because we want to make a bunch of change, so we'll have a load of short talks from local activists and community groups so we can find out what's going on and how we can help. Then, our friend Richard Wilson from Stop Funding Hate has a new project that we think you'll like. And he wants your help, so we're teaming up to have a fun ideas session. LIGHTENING TALKS 5-10 minute talks from local community activists and changemakers talking about their projects and letting you know how you can get involved. - Steve Connor - Founder of the ethical communications agency Creative Concern and has been a climate activist for 25 years. He is the ‘former chair of Manchester’s climate change plan and has been involved in two recent campaigns launched at UN Climate Week. @headstretcher - Levenshulme Bee Network - Pauline Johnston is an experienced arts and marketing and community engagement consultant, a Director of Station South cycle cafe project and one of the instigators of Levenshulme Bee Network. @levybeelines -Claire Stocks is a Manchester-based activist, writer and media specialist. Jonny will be presenting the Snook Design and Climate Initiative. @jonnyraeevans - Eve Holt - Co-Founder and Director, Happen Together CIC and Chorlton Labour Councillor, Manchester City Council. Her ‘big things’ for[masked] are tackling climate change, neutralising toxicity and powering up womens’ and girls’ participation, power and representation in Greater Manchester and in politics more broadly. @evefrancisholt CREATIVE BRIEF Our friend Richard Wilson will be launching a new national campaign tackling climate change and he needs your help. (@stopfundingheat) He'll present the campaign and we'll have 45 mins to come up with ideas in teams.
