Mark the wind-down of summer: join us for UX Lightning Talks!
UX Lightning Talks aims to bring Toronto’s design community together to explore and share ideas around user-centred design. This group is for anyone currently working in design or for those interested in the field. If you're are excited to learn first-hand from practitioners about the latest trends, technologies, and discoveries in this exciting field, sign up today!
How is it going to work?
Each talk will feature 10 minute presentations + 5 minutes of Q&A. We'll bring in a diverse collection inspired designers from Toronto. Every meetup will be different and unique because it's all about the amazing speakers. Our goal is to source inspired designers to share what they’re working on, new tools they are using, and exciting projects they’re building.
Anita Sedgwick, Director of Strategy at Havas Digital
Anita enjoys working with brands that need help growing and understanding how to take advantage of today's landscape. Anita’s career and experience has given her an opportunity to work with large and small organizations that have very complex challenges, like Usability Matters and nventive. Currently the Director of Strategy at Havas Digital, Anita is passionate about understanding consumers and solving business problems to deliver results.
Justin Kirkey, UX Lead at Synaptive Medical
Justin has worked across various fields of UX: from designing websites and apps for big brands like Jeep, Intel, and Unilever, to designing software and various UI’s for diverse clients in the safety-critical healthcare, aviation, and automotive manufacturing industries. Each industry context presents its own unique challenges to a UX designer. Maybe it’s delighting a happy shopper browsing your website, or perhaps it’s ensuring an infusion pump interface won’t allow for a tired nurse to make a calculation error when administering a dose of morphine. The funny thing is, regardless of the industry, the UX process remains pretty much constant. Know your user. Know the context of use, and test your designs: over and over and over again.
