Hello Everybody!

I am passionate about pyrography - burning a design/picture on to wood using a pyrography pen - a tool similar to a soldering iron with different tips that allows you to create unique items from bookmarks to boxes, fridge magnets to coasters and many others. I started three years ago with nothing but a soldering iron and a scrap of wood and began creating my first simple wood burning designs, and quickly developed a love for it. The smell of the fresh cut wood, the subtle smokey aroma as the design is burnt on to the wood and the satisfaction of finishing a piece had me hooked. I make my own items but I would love to share my knowledge and skills with others. You don't have to be an artist as I provide tracing paper and templates for those you don't feel confident in drawing but want to give pyrography a go. Of course, if you want to get adventurous and express your inner artist with your own creations, you are most welcome to! Everybody's welcome in my Collaborators Cabin. It is a place of inspiration with a pleasant, cosy atmosphere where you can explore your creativity in comfort.

Why not come along to a session, have some fun and experience it for yourself!

Wood Burning Workshop - decorations, bookmarks, fridge magnets, boxes, etc.

The wood burning workshop is for anyone! If you would like to create a personalised wooden item with your own unique design burned on to it, using a pyrography pen (which is like a sophisticated soldering iron), why not come along and give it a go . Working with the different pyrography pen tips you can create amazing designs and it is great fun! It is also very relaxing and therapeutic and it is a wonderful opportunity to meet up with like-minded people in the cosy and atmospheric Collaborators Cabin. . The morning workshops last three hours (the cost: £15 paid on the day). We start with some pyrography-wood burning essentials: how to use the tools and what techniques to use while wood burning. Then, you can choose the material you want to work on (the cost of one item: £4). On offer are the following: - round pieces of wood that can be turned into coasters, fridge magnets or Christmas decorations - thin, rectangular pieces perfect for bookmarks - small wooden discs ideal for jewellery - big boards for portraits - boxes of various sizes, birdhouses, fairy houses, etc. Next, you need to think about your design; all you need is a bit of imagination. You can think of what you want to burn on the spur of the moment or you can draw your design at home, bring it over and then trace it onto the wood. I also have lots of drawing and pyrography books if you need a little bit of inspiration. Finally comes the best part - you can now start burning your design on to your chosen item!
