Bydd y grw-p "Dysgu Cymraeg" yn dysgu'r iaith gyda'i gilydd ar lein. We'll start at a very elementary level and work our way up to progressively more challenging material. Eventually, if the group gets fluent enough, we can tackle some of my favorite Welsh books, including Harri Potter a Maen yr Athronydd (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, aka Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone). First, however, we'll start with some more basic texts. I'll be writing some of the texts and posting them as files; sometimes we'll use some readily accessible websites in Welsh.

The group will function much like my Irish language group, Foghlaim na Gaeilge, with online lessons for members near and far and local meetings for those in the Philadelphia area.   The online sessions (on Skype) are $15.00 per person per session and are payable by PayPal.  Most sessions are an hour.

Since we have the benefit of living in the heart of the original Welsh settlement of Pennsylvania, some of "live" meetings can take advantage of the local Welsh settings and heritage. Generally I find that meeting in bookshop cafes and other coffeeshops works well. Most live group meetings will be limited to about 5 people, due to space considerations in these venues.

I started studying Welsh as a teenager, spent a Junior-Year Abroad at the University of Wales (Aberystwyth) living in a Welsh-speaking dorm, and have been at it ever since. Oes diddordeb?
