The aim of the group is to go on medium length walks and hikes around London's Green Spaces and Waterways, and the surrounding countryside and costal seaside towns. We aim to find some amazing places and sights off the beaten track and end up afterwards in a great pub!
From 01/01/23 each walk costs only £5 to attend.
Members holding the coveted KEN'S EVENTS CARD can attend all walks on this group for free!

Look for Ken with the Kens Events/Meetup Flag/Badge outside the Central Line Station.WALK ROUTE: River Wandle, Garratt Park, Wandle Park, Merton Abbey Mills, Morden Hall Park.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 5.5 miles.
WALK END POINT: Wimbledon Station- National Rail, Tram, District Line.
WALK STOP OUT POINT: Colliers Wood Station or Morden Station

Our walks are social walks, where the emphasis is on meeting new people, enjoying nature, healthy exercise, and fresh air. Our walks are not interrupted with running commentaries or historical lectures, although occasionally features of significance may be pointed out. As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk. We always end the walk at a pub with a convivial atmosphere where the socialising can continue. Be sure to join us in the pub for the whole experience!

These walks are city walks and countryside walks where all the usual risks of injury during such walks apply resulting from interactions with road traffic, joggers, cyclists, e-scooters,other members of the public, animals (farm, domestic and wild), plants (allergic reactions), uneven surfaces, including portruding tree roots and potholes, and low overhanging tree branches.
In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths and tracks alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Note that some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy. The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route.
Do not attend this walk unless you accept and consent to the above risks. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself.

- SCENIC WALK: BEAUTIFUL CANNIZARO PARK and WIMBLEDON COMMONWimbledon, London5,00 GBP
PARKLAND, WOODLAND TRAILS, LAKES, GARDENS, STREAMS, FLOWERS, WILDLIFE. THAMESPATH.
A VERY SCENIC WALK through the beautiful Cannizaro Park in full bloom, with its abundant azaleas and rhododendrons and then onto Wimbledon Common and finally New Malden.
WALK START POINT: Wimbledon Station (National Rail, Tramline and District Line - Zone 3). When you arrive at the station look for Ken with Kens Events Flag/badge outside the station.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6 miles.
WALK ROUTE: From Wimbledon Station to Wimbledon Village and Cannizarro Park, then across the Common to New Malden.
WALK FINISH: At New Malden Station (National Rail, - Zone 4).
WALK STOPPING OUT POINT: We crossover a few London Bus Routes.

- EPPING FOREST WALK - Part 1Theydon Bois Station Car Park, Epping5,00 GBP
A Green Walk through EPPING FOREST and with luck we might even see some bluebells, followed by more socialising with cheap food and drinks in a pub with a convivial atmosphere.
WALK START: Theydon Bois Underground Station (Central Line - Zone 6). When you arrive at the start look for Ken with the Meetup/ 'KEN'S EVENTS' Flag/Sign/Badge.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6.5 miles with some gradients.
WALK ROUTE: Walk through EPPING FOREST from THEYDON BOIS to LOUGHTON .
WALK FINISH: Loughton Underground Station (Central Line - Zone 6).
STOPOUT POINTS: There are no easy stopout points on this walk.

- EPPING FOREST WALK - Part 2.Loughton Station Station Approach, Loughton5,00 GBP
This is part two of our GREEN WALK through EPPING FOREST. This section is from LOUGHTON to HIGHAMS PARK (Station) and CHINGFORD MOUNT (Pub), followed by socialising with cheap food and drinks in a convivial pub.
WALK START: Loughton Underground Station (Central Line - Zone 6). When you arrive at the start look for Ken with the Meetup/ 'KEN'S EVENTS' Flag/Sign/Badge.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6 miles to Higham Park Station and 7 miles to our pub in Chingford Mount. There are some gradients.
WALK ROUTE: Epping Forest, Connaught Water, Whitehall Plain, Highams Park.
WALK FINISH: Higham Park Station (London Overground - Zone 4)/ Chingford Mount High Street.
WALK STOP OUT POINT: Near to Chingford Station
