Saturday food and wellbeing volunteer session
MindFood run free courses during the working week aimed at supporting people who are experiencing stress, anxiety or a low mood to improve their wellbeing. ​ The courses are designed to be a fun balance of learning how to grow a wide range of fruit and vegetables whilst becoming more mindful of ways to proactively manage our wellbeing. Lots of people tell us that they would love to get involved with growing food at MindFood but can't get to our sessions during the week due to work or other commitments So we're trialing this new monthly Saturday session from 10:00 - 13:00 starting on the 18th August at our Cleveley Crescent site. You don't need any previous gardening experience just a willingness to get your hands dirty and help us improve the growing site. You'll also get to take home some produce you harvest to cook that weekend. Ealing based social enterprise MindFood is launching a new ‘Growing Wellbeing’ 6 week course that focuses on the 5 ways to wellbeing in a food growing environment. The course is designed to be a fun balance of learning how to grow a wide range of fruit and vegetables whilst becoming more mindful of ways to improve our wellbeing. The course is action orientated so each week we’ll discuss and commit to a specific action that will help improve our wellbeing between each session and ongoing after the course. The five ways to wellbeing are 5 simple and practical steps that we can all take to improve our levels of wellbeing.
