De qué se trata

This group was passed to me for safe keeping. I won't use it commercially or to cash in on people like meetup organizers of some other groups attempt to. The only time there might be a fee/donation is for a Thanksgiving Feast, Holiday Dinner Feast or something like that for a group meetup and we split the costs evenly. In the past, I have taken the time to personally cook giant feasts for 12+ hrs for everyone in the group.

This group was originally set up as a 20's 30's group. That said, I've met some cool people that are in their 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's or older over the years with good life stories. War vets, scientists, doctors, barbers, mechanics, actors, artists, and others.  If some of you want to bring a cool grandparent or something like that to a meetup I organize, feel free to bring one. They often have the best stories. I would like to make this group welcome to all ages. We can all always be "Young at Heart"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGEe_zpddNI

Below is the original "About" when the group was set up if you want to read it.

"Do you live in Long Island City? Are you in your mid-late 20s or early 30s? Are you interested in meeting others who live in the neighborhood? Then you should join this group!

I'm looking to make this a group mostly for people out of college but not necessarily "settled down"/starting a family already (it seems like 90% of the people in my building are already married with kids). I live by the waterfront/Gantry Park off the Vernon/Jackson stop, but people from other areas of LIC, and even Astoria/Sunnyside/etc. are welcome to join as well.

Events will include drinks at local bars, trying out restaurants in the area, and exploring all that Long Island City, Queens, and the rest of New York City have to offer."
