De qué se trata
Redwood City Social is for those interested in engaging in fun activities such as happy hours, wine tastings, dining at new restaurants, game nights, trivia, museums, movies, live music events and hiking!
We enjoy checking out new hot spots as well as those tried and true venues. Most of our events take place in Redwood City and nearby cities along the peninsula including Mountain View, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, San Carlos, Belmont, Redwood Shores, Foster City, San Mateo, Burlingame and San Bruno.
The three most popular comments that we get from people after events is that they had so much fun, met awesome people and tried out a place that had not been to before.
Profile Photo:
When you join, please upload a profile photo of yourself, as opposed to a cartoon, animal or nature photo. Since attendees are often meeting multiple new people during events, this makes it easier for them to recognize and remember you before and after events.
Disclaimer:
Attend RWCS events at your own risk. By attending any Redwood City Social event, you take full responsibility for your health. Organizers, hosts and participants are not responsible for attendees’ Covid status or health. By taking part in any Redwood City Social event, you agree to be included in any group photos that may be posted on Meetup during or after the event. If you do not wish to be included in group photos, then you may step out of the area when photos are being taken. Group photos that are posted on Meetup will not be edited or deleted after the event. Anyone who is posting on other social media sites should get permission from photo participants prior to posting on sites aside from Meetup.
Comments on Event Pages:
Appreciate the positive comments on event pages, including directions to those looking for the group, thanking hosts for planning, and remarks about activities and places you enjoyed. While 99% of the comments are uplifting, helpful or funny, please note that anyone who writes negative comments on event pages will be removed. Happy posting!

Ver todo- 5-mile Russian Ridge wildflower hike (Peninsula)Russian Ridge Preserve Parking, La Honda, CA
Welcome to one of the best Bay Area spring wildflower hikes!
***
It's the time of year to view spring wildflowers and this popular hike is one of the best. We haven't been there in years. It's time to give it another go.
This hike is a 5-mile loop at Russian Ridge. There are 275' & 400' elevation gains. One of them is Borel Hill, the highest named point in San Mateo County, which offers a 360-degree view.
Please wear good footwear (ie hiking boots or good walking/tennis shoes) and sunglasses. Bring water and your camera/cell phone. Make sure you have space to take photos on your camera/cell phone. :)
You have 3 choices of where to meet. You need to pick one:
- Russian Ridge parking area, that is the Meetup Location at 9AM
- carpool #1: Page Mill Rd Park N Ride at 8:30AM
- carpool #2: House of Bagels Stephen's Plaza at 8:15AM
Please choose one when you RSVP. If you don't choose one, you will be bumped off the YES list in favor of someone who has answered the question. You can re-RSVP to answer the questions.
Please update your RSVP 24 hours before the event. Answer the questions when you RSVP to facilitate planning. Please do not no-show, crash or come unprepared. No +1 guests. Members only. Limited number of attendees.
Meeting Location / Parking:
- The Russian Ridge parking area is located on the northwest corner of the Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) and Page Mill / Alpine Road intersection (across Skyline Boulevard on the right). There is a perma-potty but no water. There is no cell service so if you're not familiar with these locations, it's best to carpool.
Carpool locations:
- Meet at 8:30AM
Page Mill Rd Park N Ride - right off 280
SW corner of Page Mill Rd & Arastradero Rd, Los Altos
From there, it's 25 minutes to the Meetup Location.

Costs:
Free trailhead parking, but arrive early
$5 per person gas money, give to your driverLunch:
Consider lunch with us. It will have to be back where you carpooled because there aren't options near Russian Ridge. I suggest the historic Alpine Inn, which has good burgers and outdoor seating:
Alpine Inn
3915 Alpine Rd, Portola Valley
650-854-4004
https://www.alpineinnpv.com/Russian Ridge to Alpine Inn is a 25-minute drive. Alpine Inn to Page Mill Park N Ride and 280 (for those who carpooled) is 5 minutes. https://goo.gl/maps/cjJGpJDckgE2
