What we're about
New! This group was created for Europeans (singles/couples/families) of all ages interested in making new European friends. Let's face it; Europe will always be close to (y)our heart. There's nothing wrong with that. It's part of who you are. We get it! You love the culture, the sounds, the atmosphere. On weekends, you enjoy relaxing on a nice terrace of a cafe underneath the filtered light of a French plane tree. You love to hear fellow Europeans talking and laughing while you walk through the romantic historical center of a European town. Perhaps someone is playing an accordion in the background. You close your eyes, you drift away and you feel at home. You realize that quality of life is what matters to you. Life is beautiful. You feel good. So let's try to create the same European atmosphere right here, right now with people who think and feel exactly like you do!
Benvenuto, Bienvenue, Bienvenido, Benvenuti, Benvinguda, Welkom, Välkommen, Velkommen, Willkommen, Vítejte, Tervetuloa, Velkomin, Isten hozott, καλως ΗΡΘΑΤΕ, Witajcie, Laipni ludzam, Sveiki, ласкаво просимо, Laskavo prosimo, Tere tulemast, Dobro došli, Bun venit, Dobre doshli, Kalos orisate, Ongietorri, добро пожаловать! Did we miss a language? Let us know!
If you are a European living in the area and are eager to connect with other fellow European expats this is where we can all connect, share experiences, learn about different cultures and languages and most importantly have fun together, European style. We hope to build a European community of like-minded, interesting people that are accepting of ALL different backgrounds, ethnicities & religious beliefs. Friends from Europe without borders! We want to extend a warm welcome to couples/families with multi-ethnic backgrounds (example American/Dutch, Belgian/French, Danish/American, German/Italian etc). If your partner is American or from another country/continent that is not listed, please bring them along!
If you are interested in meeting other Europeans, that enjoy good food, beer or wine, are passionate about life, have a love for European languages, culture and lifestyle, this group has your name written all over it.
This is an "open forum" social meet-up, so if you have an idea for an event or activity you would like to participate in, you can either post it, or contact the organizer(s) directly, so we can try and plan it together. Any member of this group can host a meet-up. New ideas are always welcome!
The events will take mostly place Sonoma, Napa & nearby cities, and will range from going on hikes, cycling, foreign movie nights, going to a European style cafe together, dining out and tasting foreign foods, festivals, music, picnics, museums, art galleries, games, day trips, bbq, parties, potlucks, holiday gatherings, etc...
Now let's meet up and make friends :)
* ATTENDANCE POLICY *
Every group is only as good as its members... so let's aim for an awesome group here, with 😊 and open-minded people that are caring & considerate to others.
With that said, if you RSVP to an event we're hosting, we’ll be expecting you! If you are unable to attend for any reason, please be courteous and change your RSVP status to "NO" in a timely manner (at least 1 day prior to the event). By doing so, someone on a waitlist will have the chance to be notified and take your spot. I highly recommend all members to download the free Meetup app on your cell phones to check updates on the go, especially if you're on a waitlist. (Members with 2 "no-shows" or "last-minute" cancellations on their attendance history will be removed from the group, out of respect for those who participate.)
Let's recreate a little bit of Europe in the San Francisco Bay Area!
Cheers, Prost, Saluti, Santé, Aclamaciones, Gezondheid!
