Carolina Secular Conference

  • Sep 26, 2014 · 7:00 PM

Tickets are now on sale for the 2014 Carolinas Secular Conference.

Organized by the Carolinas Secular Association, the Fourth Annual Carolinas Secular Conference will be held in beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina, at the Hilton Charlotte Executive Park, 5624 Westpark Dr, Charlotte, NC 28217. Conference fees are $125 per person. Rooms are just $89 to $119 per night for the length of the event if booked before August 27.

Featured speakers include: writer, artist, filmmaker and Humanist activist, Steve Ahlquist; writer, blogger, and author Greta Christina; president of Black Nonbelievers, Inc., Mandisa Thomas; Bria Crutchfield; and founder of the Global Secular Humanist Movement, Secular Post and Public Relations director for Global Secular Organizing and Strategy Faisal Saeed Al Mutar. Entertainment includes rapper Greydon Square and DJ Alex Zygmunt. Find out more about the speakers HERE.

The Carolinas Secular Conference is organized to provide a ground for learning and sharing, bringing in speakers to inform and train, as well as awarding grass roots achievement by individuals across North and South Carolina. Attendees will join in a live network of planning to meet the challenges of the next year and the coming decade. A centerpiece will be the Carolinas Freethinker Banquet, which has become “the” freethought social event of the year in the Carolinas with its fine food, exciting speakers, and high-profile award ceremonies, including the presentation of the Carolinas Freethinker of the Year Award.

Beyond its role as a working event, the Carolinas Secular Conference aims to be a joyous celebration of the growing secular movement and culture and an opportunity for nontheists of all stripes to make new friends across the region.

We’ll see you in September. A community grows when individuals of vision come together for a meeting of minds among friends. And a movement grows when more and more people come and take part.
