Lunch Club

At November lunch, we discussed locations in Rockwall.  Janis said she had a nice list so we will check that out before posting the location.

The food was very good. I got a sampler & split with Crystal & we still had plenty to take home. The family-owned restaurant are from a town in Greece which is in a picture on the wall. All in all a very good Greek restaurant & great service. Sharon brought her album from a recent trip to Greece which we really enjoyed.

Charlee, I called Opa's to confirm they will be open tomorrow. Don't know if they took a reservation but advised a party of six will be at the restaurant for lunch tomorrow at 11:30 under the name of Charlee. Thanks again for hosting this so that the luncheon did not have to be canceled. I really appreciate it.

Since we have encountered restaurants that shut down when were scheduled to be there so now I always verify that restaurant is open. I think Toni suggested that as a rule for those hosting.

How was it? Did you all enjoy it? So happy the lunch did not have to be cancelled. Thanks so much for stepping up.

    Hi Charlee/Everyone,
I've lived in Rowlett over 15 years and just now seeing this restaurant. Since I'm hosting the Mesquite Symphony on Saturday, just not in the budget to do back to back events right now. Hope you all will plan to do this again. Last time I did Greek food was at a multicultural potluck at work. Sounds delish!

Yes, Linda, I've got you beat. I've lived in the same house in Rowlett for 34 yrs (before we even had a grocery store). The reason you're just seeing this restaurant is it just opened recently. Maybe next time!

No worries, Joy. I can host as it's right down the street from my house & I'm bringing my daughter, also. However, we'll miss both you & Barb!

Charlee, thanks so much. I was going to ask someone to host or cancel the luncheon. I am so happy ya'll will be able to have the luncheon so near Christmas. I will call and advise the restaurant of the party size and who will be hosting. Hopefully, I will be back in circulation next month.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and am so happy you will be able to have the luncheon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.

I am so sorry, but not only can I not host this, I'm not even going to be able to attend...:( Got called to do a wk. of subbing due to a teacher medical leave. I am sorry to not be able to take over as planned, Barbara. Do hope someone else can. Was really hoping to go. Sounds like a neat restaurant.

    Joy,
Can you host this event? I will call the restaurant to verify it is serving on that day. I will verify that restaurant is serving and add that information to this location. I cannot attend cuz I had eye surgery that will take 2 months to heal. Until vision is restored, I drive only in areas where I am totally familiar and when there is minimal traffic. I am unfamiliar with this area and do not feel comfortable driving to this location.

Yes, I will be glad to do that; however, I hate for you to miss out. We could schedule this another time and do something in Mesquite, while you are recovering. Just let me know.

I appreciate your offer to move the lunch but I want the ladies to enjoy their luncheon, especially so close to Christmas. Please leave as is. I hate anyone to change plans because of me. For now, I am actually fearful of driving. I have a gas bubble in my eye that bounces around continuously, making me nauseated and interfering with my depth perception and balance. The bubble will dissolve but it will take up to two months. For now, I am avoiding even leaving my home and don't know how quickly this situation will alleviate so it is best that I limit my commitments. Thank you for stepping up to hosting this. Let me know how it goes. I am sure you will all have much fun.

Never been to a greek restaurant. Only Greek food I have eaten is Baklava pastry (love it). Here is the link to the menu. Let me know if this works for all of you. Location is right off Hiway 66.
