About Sandwiches for SoupMobile: The goal each week is to make more than 1,500 sandwiches, about 2½ days’ meals. We also bag individual servings of chips and cookies - the SoupMobile gives out more than 600 bags of cookies and 600 snacks bags every day, and individual bags of snacks and cookies are easy to store until they are used.

About the SoupMobile: The SoupMobile was started by David Timothy, aka The SoupMan, who passed out 5,000 peanut butter sandwiches by himself. The SoupMobile has grown every year. The SoupMobile mobile soup kitchen now serves more than 600 meals a day (200,000+ meals a year) to hungry, homeless people in the South Dallas area.This event ~Sandwiches for SoupMobile supplies more than half of the sandwiches served by the SoupMobile.

    I always forget this;
    1) Lock you purse in the car~ there is no place for it inside the venue.
    2) Just in case all the free parking is taken when you get there have some change for a meter.

    Hi Cheryl,
    Two questions. Will this be a monthly FFF activity and do you ladies ever carpool downtown? Honestly, don't venture there on my own two often. One reason.....always wind up with a parking ticket.. no matter what. Let me know if you carpool some months. This looks like a worthwhile event I would like to participate in before the year is out.

      No it's not a monthly activity. I would like it to be but our schedule does not always allow for it. We do try to go often though. And if someone else would host when I can't then we could do it more often. Carpooling to any of our events is always possible, depending if people are coming from the same area. The best thing to do is post that you would like to carpool. Also we make sandwiches until about 12:30 and then we go to a restaurant and eat and visit. So we are usually not finished until apx. 2PM.
