What we're about

Like the outdoors, but can't currently walk 15 miles a day or don’t want to walk in streaming rain? Join me on small group fair weather weekend walks of between 4 - 7 miles in the counties around London. There is no membership or walk fee, but I am not a professional guide either, so all walks are at your own risk.
I will generally put up a schedule of walks a few weeks in advance but will keep an eye on the weather and will cancel as necessary if it looks like it might rain during the walk.
Walking group size will be restricted to max 15, therefore please keep your attendance up to date to allow other members to join if you can no longer make it.
No dogs please!
If you have suggestions on how to make the walks better or allow you to attend, i.e. starting times/lunch options etc, please let me know. I am always open to constructive criticism. :-)

5 mile medium circular - Epsom Downs KT18 5PP

Location visible to members

Meet at 11:45 at the Tattenham Crescent Car Park KT18 5PP (7 mins walk from Tattenham Corner Train Station.) The guidebook I am using describes this walk as 5 miles (8km) with a min time of 2 hours mins. (note: I tend to be a slow walker though, so will budget in 3 hours) Supposedly there is an ascent/gradient of 394ft (120 m) and the walk is described as Level of difficulty 2 of 3. The walk is described as mainly broad, easy to follow bridleways in a landscape of open skies of Downs and wooded landscape. Please be aware that I will be stopping at the Fox and Hounds Pub in Walton about 2/3rds through the walk for Sunday lunch to which you are welcome to join me. Please let me know when you RSVP as to whether you will be eating at the pub or bringing your own food so I know how many people to reserve a table for. Any questions, feel free to ask me. I hope to see you on the day! Please be sure to RSVP though as I might change my plans for the day if nobody has joined the walk .... or if it is raining.
