Hello all Feet First Members.

With spring in the air, and summer on the way, and the rainy days getting less and less...there are going to be a lot of fair weather members looking for the planned events that the Feet First Leadership Team have up on the site  each week .

We also have a lot of new members that have joined in the last month or two, so if you're one of them, be sure to get on the site early to rsvp yes, if you're free for the event announced.

This Saturdays event at Puhoi is full, but there will be others planned most weekend's with Mike, and new leaders Andrew and Nick planning some soon.

As well as most of you know there are other hiking meet up groups, offering a huge range of activities , so be sure to become a member of them if you're looking to get active this summer.

The Auckland Hiking group, are very active, but there are others to consider ...should the events Feet First run not suit you, or they are full.

For example this weekend, Twin Coast Trekking Meet Up Group here in Auckland, led by my friend Kevin and his partner Nicki, have a great event on starting near Piha walking at one of my favourites area's in the Waitakere's which has some exceptional open coastal views over the mighty Tasman Sea , and they are walking to Karekare Beach and back.

Check them out online for more details for there Hike this Saturday the 13th of September.

Daylight savings starts in NZ end of Sept too, so we'll be doing some late afternoon starting events to take in the bush at night and we'll do some overnight camping/ hiking and social events this summer, plus finish the year with our xmas party at Nikau Caves for those interested.

After the Puhoi nature hike this weekend, the next Event I will be leading , along with my partner Bron, will be on the 4th October which is open to all members ,going to the big Waitakere Dam for dinner and shared dessert.... and this will be our first social afternoon hike. More details are online.

And...Also, as mentioned above...Expect to see other Events led by Mike and Nick and Andrew coming on this Group soon.

So yes...with summer coming ...its time to think about longer days for bush walking...keep an eye on other Meet Up Hiking Groups and pick and choose the activities you like.

Have a great weekend , whatever you do.

See you on the tracks soon.

Kind Regards

Stephen F.
