Hi all .

Hope you are feeling Summery... Its certainly a mixed bag of weather this week again..though the weekend is looking fine .

Regarding the Event at Karekare Beach this Saturday, Unfortunately for you, and me , the main track at Karekare - Zion Hill Track is closed now short term until Dec 8th as a major track overhaul is going on for this very popular coastal track . This was something I didn't check but was mentioned today to me by two other members . Thank you both .

I have rung the Park Rangers today and the end results for the great public demand for this track are going to be a much improved version of previous muddy sections and steep overgrown terrain and new wood steps are being put in place today .

Meanwhile, I'm now doing a much easier route at nearby Piha Valley this Saturday , which is my favourite spot walking on some stunning tracks ...deep into the wilderness away from the public , beside a stream. then stopping at the popular Kitekite Falls at end of the day .  More details online soon.

We'll go back to KareKare either in December or Jan.

Meanwhile, all the best . Hot summer days will be happening soon...

Lots more Feet First Events coming up too ..

Cheers Stephen F.
