Part to Full-Time Fantasy Fiction Writer's Critique Group - this group is what it claims to be. I'm looking for members who are at least consistent part-time fiction fantasy writers. I've been a part of numerous writers groups in the past and have experience as to what works and what fails. This group is managed with a membership approval process and rules! This meet up group is free. I will be providing the space (nice conference room) and free Pips doughnuts (truly). Location: About 42nd and NE Fremont, will provide the exact address to approved members.
Frequency and Time: Second Friday of every month at 1pm sharp, will run until 3pm.
What you must bring: You cannot attend unless you are bringing 3,000 to 5,000 words of NEW (to the group) fiction fantasy work. This could be chapter one then two in a novel, the first part then the second of a short story, etc. It must be 3,000 to 5,000 NEW words of one story (not multiple fragments of different stories, not a revision of a work you brought before). You must not bring more than 5,000 words (no cheating) and not less than 3,000. You must bring 3 printed (legible, double spaced) copies of that work.
What happens in the meeting: Your work will be reviewed at least 2X by other members. Each member will have an hour to review another's work. If members get done sooner, we can pass work around more frequently. We will eat doughnuts.
Membership application process:
Email your fantasy fiction work to: Rundolin@Gmail.com. Looking for Word or Google Doc files between 3,000 and 10,000 words. Membership will be approved based on the quality of your work. I am not a successful published author, but I have had my work professionally edited many times, I have been writing for many years, attended many conferences - I am not a newbie. I have completed many short stories and (sort of, *cough*) a novel and a half.
My definition of fiction fantasy: I'm open to urban fantasy, apocalyptic fantasy, steampunk, high / classical fantasy. I am not interested in zombies, alternative history, romance, horror.
