Bringing the Queer Lens to Everything We See…
Join us! film/fan is a monthly film series for the LGBTQQ community that happens every second Wednesday. Gender, sexuality, race, class - we bring the queer viewpoint to films from all over the world. Pre-film gathering, projected screening and post-film discussion. Curated by filmmaker Emmanuelle Antolin and guests.
This December 14th: PARIAH made waves in 2011 - a queer film about a Brooklyn teenager who juggles conflicting identities and risks friendship, heartbreak, and family in a desperate search for sexual expression. Directed by Dee Rees, the film was an Official Sundance Selection.
We've got a roomy space in an art gallery with comfy armchairs and a great projector. Meet us at 6:30 for a little socializing. If you can, bring a snack and/or non-alcoholic beverage to share. Or - just come at 7 - we start the film at 7ish. Group discussion follows. Free admission.
