Dashing Whippets Running Team

The Dashing Whippets Running Team is a New York based running team that is founded on, and driven by, the diversity of our team members. With team members from all over the city, the country and the world, and with greatly different running goals, we find unity in recognizing and appreciating each others differences and our mutual enjoyment of running and participating in the New York running community and beyond. Our goal is to help each other become the best runners that we can and to fulfill our potential as athletes - whether that is to run your first race, run a PR, a marathon, an ultra marathon or an Ironman - our team spirit, expert coaches and training plans will help you achieve and exceed your goals. As a team, we aspire to be a net contributor to the running community by hosting multiple training sessions per week for runners of all abilities and pace, maintaining a low annual membership fee that ensures we are open to all, cheering at races and giving back to the community through volunteering and fundraising for local nonprofit organizations. The Dashing Whippets Running Team is a 501(c)(3) non-profit running organization operating under the Road Runners Club of America ([RRCA](http://www.rrca.org/)). We charge $30 in annual dues, but new members may try out the team for 90-days ([more info](http://www.dashingwhippets.org/messages/boards/thread/10341902)). Shorewalkers: Members Only Group

This group is open to active members of Shorewalkers, a non-profit group leading walks throughout the NYC area. Our volunteer hike leaders offer walks every weekend of the year and our signature event, a 32-mile hike around Manhattan called the Great Saunter, takes place on the first Saturday in May. To join this group, first register as a paid member at www.Shorewalkers.org. Come join us for a walk and experience NYC at 3 mph! Your participation in any of our activities is your acknowledgment that you are solely responsible for your own assessment of your abilities and your physical fitness to participate in that activity.   Participants in any Shorewalkers activity are encouraged to discuss with the hike leader any limitation they may have that could affect their ability to fully participate in an event, especially on hikes outside city limits such as those on hiking trails.  The hike leader may refuse to take anyone who lacks proper equipment as indicated in the hike description.  Walkers must be physically fit and by joining any event you agree to waive all rights and claims for damages against Shorewalkers, it’s officers, directors, hike leaders, employees, event personnel or volunteers. Shorewalkers does not tolerate inappropriate behavior during its events. If you are subject to or witness any inappropriate behavior during a Shorewalker event, please contact the Shorewalker Meetup Organizers directly and report the behavior. Shorewalkers will investigate any reports of inappropriate behavior and take necessary action. Shorewalkers encourages social media posts of photos and videos taken during our events. Shorewalkers reserves the right to use the photos/videos in any manner and for any reason, except for commercial purposes, without remuneration or attribution. We require those who capture video with identifiable voice of a hike leader or walker, to obtain approval of that person prior to posting the content to social media.

Sick of books, conferences, and groups that just talk about finding your ideal mate, or worse, giving you meaningless and repetitive information? Are you tired of looking for the one that God has for you? Christian Singles Connect was created to actually **solve** those problems. We take the time to actually look deep into the issues that plague singleness and pull out solutions. Through networking, debating, and events, we hope to end your days of loneliness. Invite your friends and let's have some fun! Men and women are welcome, and you don't have to be Christian to join. Note: We are a candid group and encourage everyone to speak, ask questions, and give their personal experiences. We try to keep things realistic, open, and honest. This is a safe place. We have members from ages 25 to 55 which live in multiple countries and states. We are officially located in Atlanta, GA, USA. . . . CSC Recommendations and Conduct. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* The best way to utilize CSC is to befriend everyone, especially those of the opposite gender. Those interested in you will naturally gravitate toward you. We try to have lots of events there is no need to rush. For men, this gives you time to “predate” women at no cost. You don’t have to worry about dates because you’re getting to know the person while you hang out at CSC. For women, this allows you time to relax and “watch” the men to see who is a good fit. CSC works hard to provide events almost every weekend, especially during the warm months. Members come out often. If there is an event that you’d like to do, simply let the organizers know. CSC's desire is for your marriage. The goal of CSC Events is twofold. 1.    To provide a “High School” environment where you can talk to those in the group to get to know them first, before you become romantic. 2.    To be a “wing-person” so that you will be comfortable leaving home. (CSC recognizes that women generally outnumber the men, so we try to find places where there may be more single men available.) If you jump the gun and try to force a relationship, that person may become uncomfortable and not come back to the group. We’re not in the “grocery store” or at the “gas station.” There’s no need to rush. Also just because you liked someone at an event, there’s no need to jump into their DMs if they haven’t shown interest. The best way to know is to come back and be a regular at the events. Eventually your person will come. If anyone feels uncomfortable, please tell one of the organizers. We will work with the offending person and explain the “vibe” of CSC. If the person refuses to listen, we will ask them not to come back to any events and will remove their membership. CSC has a PG-13 energy. You may talk about almost anything that would be in a PG-13 movie. However, do not use excessive profanity or “mature” words/phrases. We understand that to express yourself, especially when discussing dating, you may want to talk about certain subjects. But “how” you talk about those subjects matters. Please don’t try to demean or dominate anyone. In doing so, you are proving that you need to work on yourself and deal with your own problems before dating. Enjoy. Relax. Chill. Be Friendly. Remember God is watching. Jay

Ethnic Dining in Queens and Beyond!

Flushing, NY

Ethnic Dining in Queens and Beyond!

It’s time to eat all the ethnic cuisines that Queens and other boroughs have to offer. Members will eat in a family style setting and share the total food costs plus tax and tips. The only exception is that you pay for your own drinks and dessert. This group is for adventurous people. I can’t guarantee that the food is up to your liking. Covid virus is real and it could be risky to eat with a group of members especially indoor. Please be aware that you are eating at your own risk. Proof of Vaccination and ID will be checked by the Host of each event. This group is not suitable for serious vegetarians or picky eaters. If you don't want to have your pictures taken during the event and have them post in the group's meetup album, please feel free to let the host or the organizer know so that we can honor your request. Thanks. \*\*\*GROUP RULES\*\*\* (These rules are necessary to keep the group running smoothly): 1\. If you receive Three No\-Shows\, you will be removed from the group\. So please change your RSVP if your plans change\. Starting 1/1/2014\, you must change your RSVP by the RSVP deadline \(two days before the scheduled event by no later than 3 pm\)\. If you cancel after the deadline\, regardless if you are on the attend list or wait list\, then it will count as a no show\. 2\. If you get move up from the wait list to the attending list\, you are expected to attend the dinner\. Wait list members\, please don't cancel your RSVP wait list after the RSVP deadline even though you know for sure that you are not going to get move up to the attending list\. You will be marked as no show if you cancel after RSVP deadline\. Dinner Organizers will not move any wait listed members to attending list if it is less than 24 hours from the scheduled dinner\. So no worries\! 3\. You are required to pay for your share of the total bill even if you did not get to eat all of the different dishes ordered due to your own lateness or other reasons\. 4\. To reduce confusion and time wasted from looking through menus\, the Organizers ultimately choose the dishes from the menu for us to consume; you may\, however\, give some suggestions of dishes before each meetup dinner menu is posted\, but these suggestions would not be guaranteed\. Please look at the dishes that we listed at each meetup carefully BEFORE you sign up\. 5\. $2\.00 per person meetup cost will be added on each event\. 6\. This meet up group is only for its members\. If you want to bring a guest\, please have him or her join the group\. Couples: Please join separately \(individually\)\. 7\. All organizers reserve the right to give priority to some members\, when necessary\. We would like to give all members a better chance of attending our events instead of having the same members attend the repeated events\. All organizers also reserve the right to wait\-list those members who habitually change their rsvps from yes to no\, less than 24 hrs before the 3pm/2 days event deadline\. 8\. No solicitation to members\! 9\. It is a requirement for all members to have their personal profile pictures with this group at all times\. No photo = removal from the group\. 10\. The Meetup Organizers reserves the right to excuse members who earned enough credits \(attended at least 85 dinners\) to be absent from dinner after RSVP deadline during certain circumstances\. However this privilege will NOT be allow to be abused\. Your 3 no shows will have to be used first before we decide to give you the excuse\. Thanks in advance for your cooperation! Please feel free to let us know if you have any restaurants for us to try.  \~ Andie, Elyse, Jeff, JoeSuit & Khoi Organizers of the group.

New York Narcissistic Abuse, CPTSD & Codependency Support

Please consider joining our sister group at: https://www.meetup.com/pittsburgh-narcissism-survivor-meetup-group/ for more daily meetings, workshops and consistent support and validation. We are a group for people who have suffered or are suffering from Narcissistic Abuse in a love or personal relationship. We will discuss and encourage sharing of our experiences, talk about trauma bonding and how to break the cycle. Most importantly, we will share our communal experience and provide support by listening and sharing our what we've gone through so that all attendees know that they are not alone. Please read this message carefully: Before signing up to any meeting in this group, you MUST attend a First Timers Meeting event. There are NO exceptions to this. These meetings are designed to ensure community safety and if you sign up for an Established Member event without attending one, you will be removed from that event. Before you do anything else, including signing up for an Established Members group, check out our "Events" section and sign up for a First Timers Group and attend one BEFORE you sign up for an Established Member meeting. We are very strict about this rule, so please do so as we hate to remove people from meetings and have to send a PM advising someone of this rule. All meetings are run through Zoom. The links and passwords are reset every day. The links are all sent the morning of the meetings. You will receive your link through whatever email you use through Meetup. Please ensure you have your settings with Meetup set to receive emails as they will come in through that email. If you sign up for a meeting, please check you have received your link well before the meeting as we do not check our emails during meetings. It is your responsibility to check that you have received your link - if you haven't received it and it's before meeting time, simply send your organizer (Kay R., Paige, Roby or Anthony) a PM and we will ensure you receive it. Some more general rules that will be reviewed in your First Timer's Meeting: DO NOT private message moderators/organizers unless you have a question regarding the group as a whole, or you didn't receive a link to the meeting. DO NOT message us for medical, legal, or general advice, and do not contact us to vent. We understand that times are tough and this is not an easy situation to deal with, but we are all running this group on a volunteer basis, and we do not have any medical or counseling degrees. If there is an emergency please call 911, contact your local police, hospital, or physician. There is also a domestic violence hotline (800.799.SAFE) and a suicide hotline (800-273-8255) - these are free 24 hour services. We appreciate your understanding in advance. DO NOT private message other members of the group. Again, this is an exception to the rule above, but if you see someone in a meeting you'd like to reach out to, please send the organizer of that meeting a message and we will ask that person if they consent to being contacted and will pass on your info to them. If a member tells you during a meeting to reach out to them, that is OK as they have consented already. This is for the safety of our members, which we take very seriously. We are happy you are here and hope you find this a supportive community. All of the rules are above are to ensure that you are safe and that the people you will be interacting with are validating, here for the 'right reasons', and are properly vetted. We look forward to meeting you! x Kay R.
