Dashing Whippets Running Team
New York, NY
The Dashing Whippets Running Team is a New York based running team that is founded on, and driven by, the diversity of our team members. With team members from all over the city, the country and the world, and with greatly different running goals, we find unity in recognizing and appreciating each others differences and our mutual enjoyment of running and participating in the New York running community and beyond. Our goal is to help each other become the best runners that we can and to fulfill our potential as athletes - whether that is to run your first race, run a PR, a marathon, an ultra marathon or an Ironman - our team spirit, expert coaches and training plans will help you achieve and exceed your goals. As a team, we aspire to be a net contributor to the running community by hosting multiple training sessions per week for runners of all abilities and pace, maintaining a low annual membership fee that ensures we are open to all, cheering at races and giving back to the community through volunteering and fundraising for local nonprofit organizations. The Dashing Whippets Running Team is a 501(c)(3) non-profit running organization operating under the Road Runners Club of America ([RRCA](http://www.rrca.org/)). We charge $30 in annual dues, but new members may try out the team for 90-days ([more info](http://www.dashingwhippets.org/messages/boards/thread/10341902)). Fabulous females seeking female friends over 50 for events
New York, NY
\*\*\*Seeking wonderful women who like to socialize, wine and dine, go to live music and other shows with women friends. If you are looking for great friends and fun times, you will fit right in. This is a women’s only group. I modified the group’s name as about 10 men have tried to join. I purchase tix to shows mostly at discount prices so that we are assured of sitting together. I have a good relationship with City Winery Concierge and they help me get seats for shows that I pay for directly thru The Winery. I have websites where I can get discount tix for their shows. Even though I don’t know where our seats will be, we all sit together and I have never gotten bad seats. If I get tix thru The Winery, I don’t pay a service fee as I buy an annual CW membership that gives me advance notice of shows as well. City Winery has no food/drink minimum. Most other places do. Before Omicron, I was getting discount tix to Birdland and a lot of us attended great jazz shows there. I keep my eye out for new discount tix daily. I am also looking for free shows, like the 2 art shows I have set up. I only set up shows for later in the day/ evenings due to medical issues that I have. For any further info please message me.

New York Narcissistic Abuse, CPTSD & Codependency Support
New York, NY
Please consider joining our sister group at: https://www.meetup.com/pittsburgh-narcissism-survivor-meetup-group/ for more daily meetings, workshops and consistent support and validation. We are a group for people who have suffered or are suffering from Narcissistic Abuse in a love or personal relationship. We will discuss and encourage sharing of our experiences, talk about trauma bonding and how to break the cycle. Most importantly, we will share our communal experience and provide support by listening and sharing our what we've gone through so that all attendees know that they are not alone. Please read this message carefully: Before signing up to any meeting in this group, you MUST attend a First Timers Meeting event. There are NO exceptions to this. These meetings are designed to ensure community safety and if you sign up for an Established Member event without attending one, you will be removed from that event. Before you do anything else, including signing up for an Established Members group, check out our "Events" section and sign up for a First Timers Group and attend one BEFORE you sign up for an Established Member meeting. We are very strict about this rule, so please do so as we hate to remove people from meetings and have to send a PM advising someone of this rule. All meetings are run through Zoom. The links and passwords are reset every day. The links are all sent the morning of the meetings. You will receive your link through whatever email you use through Meetup. Please ensure you have your settings with Meetup set to receive emails as they will come in through that email. If you sign up for a meeting, please check you have received your link well before the meeting as we do not check our emails during meetings. It is your responsibility to check that you have received your link - if you haven't received it and it's before meeting time, simply send your organizer (Kay R., Paige, Roby or Anthony) a PM and we will ensure you receive it. Some more general rules that will be reviewed in your First Timer's Meeting: DO NOT private message moderators/organizers unless you have a question regarding the group as a whole, or you didn't receive a link to the meeting. DO NOT message us for medical, legal, or general advice, and do not contact us to vent. We understand that times are tough and this is not an easy situation to deal with, but we are all running this group on a volunteer basis, and we do not have any medical or counseling degrees. If there is an emergency please call 911, contact your local police, hospital, or physician. There is also a domestic violence hotline (800.799.SAFE) and a suicide hotline (800-273-8255) - these are free 24 hour services. We appreciate your understanding in advance. DO NOT private message other members of the group. Again, this is an exception to the rule above, but if you see someone in a meeting you'd like to reach out to, please send the organizer of that meeting a message and we will ask that person if they consent to being contacted and will pass on your info to them. If a member tells you during a meeting to reach out to them, that is OK as they have consented already. This is for the safety of our members, which we take very seriously. We are happy you are here and hope you find this a supportive community. All of the rules are above are to ensure that you are safe and that the people you will be interacting with are validating, here for the 'right reasons', and are properly vetted. We look forward to meeting you! x Kay R.

Ph.D students, Post-Docs, and early career professors working on their writing projects. We write in solidarity, along side one another, in quiet co-working sessions. The group normally meets in person but now (due to COVID), we write together on ZOOM.
We meet and write, usually for 3 hours, taking short 5-minute breaks every 50/60' of continuous writing.
Join us to defeat the sense of isolation academia entails. In our writing group, we support each others' goals and increase our productivity! And we drink a lot of coffee ☕️ as well, of course!!!
**The group is restricted to people working in academia (PhD students/candidates/post-docs/professors)
**Note: The writing group does not provide feedback on your writing (proofreading, works-in-progress, etc.) we use the time to actually write in solidarity!!
