Finding Female Friends Past Fifty® SouthBay (FFF>F)
Manhattan Beach, CA
Finding Female Friends Past Fifty (FFF>F) is a group of seasoned, interesting, and supportive women. If you're looking for friends, you've found the right place! Many women find ourselves at this age without the social connections we yearn for, and finding friends in our age group can be a challenge. If you join our group with an open heart, sense of adventure, and fun spirit, you may find that even after a few events, you will begin to make connections and form friendships. Please take a moment to review our guidelines prior to your request to join: MEETUP PROFILE: Our group is growing quickly and it is important for us to be able to connect and communicate with our members. And as a group of women, we are sensitive to being able to know who we are communicating with, as well as being able to recognize you and call you by name at our events. As a result, we require a few specific items regarding your Meetup profile: Name: We require that you use your actual first name. You do not have to enter a last name, but your first name needs to be what you are addressed by. Profile names that appear to be obscuring identity will not be approved. Profile: We require a close-up photo that shows your face, head and shoulders with no obscuring elements like sunglasses, a low hat or a mask. Please check your profile picture before you request membership. If your picture does not meet requirements, your request will not be approved. If you need help updating your picture, click here: [https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002878591-How-do-I-change-my-profile-photo](https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002878591-How-do-I-change-my-profile-photo) Membership Fees: Meetup charges our group a subscription cost every 6 months for us to be a part of their platform. To cover this, we ask that every member pay $5 to cover the cost of these fees. You can conveniently give your $5 to your event host at your next event. You will only pay this fee once, then we won't ask again for at least 1 year. Depending upon how many active members we have and what Meetup's subscription charges are, we should not have to ask for additional fees beyond your first payment for at least 1 year, likely longer. Notifications: As a member, it is essential that you have your Email Updates and Push Notifications turned on in Settings both on your desktop computer and your phone app. It is also necessary to check back frequently in the days before a scheduled event in case there are any changes or if confirmation is requested. If you need help changing your settings, you can use the following links: Turn on Email Notifications: [https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002879591-Editing-my-email-settings](https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002879591-Editing-my-email-settings) Turn on Push Notifications: [https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002862972-Editing-my-push-notification-settings](https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002862972-Editing-my-push-notification-settings) . PLEASE NOTE: If we are not able to reach you when needed, you may be removed from the group. ATTENDANCE: Attendance and punctuality are vital for us to create an environment where friendships can flourish; please note that we take attendance seriously. If you are unsure if you can make it to an event, please do not sign up; instead, wait to see if there is room last minute. Not following the guidelines below can result in removal from future events and/or from the group. Tardiness: It is important to be respectful of everyone's time, including restaurant staff, event staff, and event organizers who often plan in advance to ensure our group can be accommodated, etc. Please plan ahead to ensure you arrive on time. Excessive tardiness of over 10 minutes may result in you being removed from future events, and/or from the group. RSVPs: As our group expands, we typically have several ladies on the waitlist for our events. We ask that if you need to change your RSVP, you do so no later than 48 hours prior to the event. This will provide members on the waitlist some notice that they are able to go to the event and allow them to adjust their plans accordingly. We understand that life happens and sometimes there are last-minute changes; however, any sudden drop-outs with less than 48 hours notice will result in you being removed from any events you are attending for the next week. This applies to our waitlist as well. If you are on the waitlist, it is assumed you intend to come should a spot open up. If your plans change, please edit your response to 'Not Going' at least 48 hours in advance. No-Shows: A lot of work and coordination goes into planning an event, and part of what makes events fun is having everyone show up! All event coordinators can be reached via message or email through the Meetup app. If you are signed up for an event and you do not attend, you will be marked as "No Show". If this occurs with no communication from you, you will be removed from any events you are attending for the next week. After three no shows, you will be removed from the group. \*\*\*\*\*FFF>F CANCELLATION POLICY: Your host is a fellow member who has put a lot of effort into this event! Out of consideration to her and to fellow members on the waitlist, please cancel at least 48 hours in advance if you can no longer attend. The consequence for not doing so is removal from any events you are going to for one week. Event Fee Requirements: You may find that some of our events require an event fee to be paid within a certain amount of time. If you are not able to make the payment within the allocated amount of time, you will be moved to “Not Going” to the event. If you RSVP for multiple fee-required events and have a track record of not paying within the allocated amount of time, the event organizer can move you to “Not Going” at their discretion without giving you the allocated amount of time to pay. ATTITUDE: We pride ourselves in creating a welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment for our members. We are here to have fun and enjoy our time together. As such, the following behaviors are not allowed and we reserve the right to remove anyone from the group for violating these expectations. \~ Negativity: Our time together is reserved for uplifting and supporting each other. So please come with a positive attitude and leave any negativity at home. \~ Drama: We are grown women; drama in any form is unnecessary and will not be tolerated. \~ Business/Networking: Please leave your work hat at home. We are here to make friends, and not be sold to or recruited. If you are looking for Female Friends past Fifty and these guidelines align with your personal values, please join us! We are looking forward to meeting you!
Family of Friends South Bay Social Meetup (50-65)
El Segundo, CA
*Please read: If you are joining this group with no intention on attending any of our meetups, this is not the group for you. Please only join if you have the time to invest in our meetups to make close friends.* *[If you are looking to pick up someone at a Meetup, this is not the Meetup for you. This Meetup is meant to be a safe environment for all that are truly looking to create a family of friends without the fear of being preyed on by others seeking to engage in romantic/sexual pursuits.]* ***“The language of friendship is not words but meanings.”*\~ Henry David Thoreau** I grew up in California where I was fortunate enough to experience a wonderfully close, connected group of friends. We regularly spent time sharing our lives with each other... spending time in each other's homes, integrating families, sharing our hopes and passions, sharing our love of music, and traveling together. We often talked late into the night. I'm reaching out to mature individuals (ages 50-65) to see if any of you want to actively help me build a family of friends of like-minded people who can share in creating something like what I've described above. My hope is that as we can create this family of friends that it will grow, thrive and inspire others. What would it be like to… • Know you could rely on others and they on you • Share any truth of who you are and not be judged; just heard and accepted • Laugh late into the night • Share your hopes and dreams and receive encouragement in return • Call up any “family member” and just hang out because you want to • To be that friend that someone else can “count on to be there” • To rent a cabin in Mammoth for a ski trip or house in Napa for a long weekend wine-tasting • • To collaborate in cooking together, alternating at each others' home • To enjoy "movie nights" with popcorn or cheese and wine • And to sometimes cry over a hurt or loss that’s occurred and receive a group hug in support. If you desire this level of friendship and want to be part of cultivating a stronger sense of community in this world, then please join in co-creating a special family of friends. Everyone has special gifts to give to help expand this family to ever enriching experiences and cohesiveness. My hope is that this motivates people to open their homes and hearts to others. **It is essential that all “family members” pitch in to organize events, etc.** **\*\*\*Since we want to create a close-knit group of people that genuinely want to be an active part of this group, our policy is-- two no shows or three months of inactivity and you will be removed from the group. However, you can always re-join when you're more able to participate in events!\*\*\***
South Bay Social Group for Women
Over the past year I have been looking for a group of women who support each other. Women who want to play, hike, have drinks (coffee or wine), volunteer in the community and anything else we can think of.
Too often we get lost in the "to-do's" of life and sometimes need to encourage each other to come out of our structured lives to play a little and remember who we are. We are women that are stronger when we support each other.
Now, with life beginning to feel a bit more normal, I'm creating this group to find other women who want to join me in talking over a glass of wine or mug of coffee, going for a hike, or even volunteering in the community.
If this sounds like something that interests you, I would love to meet you at the next event!
In order for all of us (leaders and women) to enjoy ourselves, here are some ground rules:
Some events may specify limits. Those will be clearly noted when needed. If an event has a limited number of people, please make sure your RSVP is correct. If you can not come, please give a 24 hour courtesy and cancel (change your RSVP) so someone else in the group can take that spot. I understand people get sick and cars break down, but if this request is repeatedly broken, you will be removed from the group. Think, "3 strikes rule."
When you RSVP, please remember the group organizer (and the rest of the group) waits for you and continually checks messages before moving the group forward. Please be considerate and change your RSVP if you are not coming at any point.
If you RSVP to an event, come to the event but choose to do your own thing outside of the group, this will be considered a "no show."
Be kind and courteous. We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
Please avoid "hot topics" that are largely debated. We get enough of that everywhere else in the world. This is a place to have fun with each other and let go of the stress. Please respect that others come together for this reason. If someone starts a topic you don't want to be a part of, feel free to walk away from them or kindly let them know it's not something you want to talk about. It's ok to not want to talk about something with someone.
Bullying will not be tolerated. Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated and lead to immediate removal of the group.
All of these things are just so at the end of the day, we can all have a good time.

Casual French Speaking
Long Beach, CA
So you want to learn French? Just strengthen your vocab and French accent? Craving a lil' Le Petit Prince reading? Many of you might have learned French before–maybe because you had to in school, or because you thought it would be fun (really?)–but haven’t spoken in years and feel a bit rusty. This is why we have set up French conversation groups bringing together both native and non-native French speakers, to give you an opportunity to practice on a regular basis, with people from similar levels, but also with native who might be able to help you.
All levels of French (and want-to-be-French) speakers are welcome to join us at this informal meetup group to get back in the swing of the French language! Our meetups will happen at a local coffee shop where no-stress conversations will take place. Vocab games, casual conversation, French scrabble and readings from French literature will be some of our highlights. Join us for the occasional French film night and exploring the world of francophone culture and cuisine!
No stress, casual and ALL LEVELS welcome!
Breathe With Me: A Breath and Holistic Wellness Collective
Los Angeles, CA
Hi! Welcome to Breathe With Me. This is a group for sweet people who want to meetup and connect with others who interested in healthy breathing. We offer an holistic approach to efficient breathing, which will focus on our mind, body and spirit. Breath is life. With each breath every cell receives oxygen. This oxygen is converted to energy by the cell, keeping it alive and thus keeping us alive. Less oxygen to the cells means less energy is produced by the cell, and we in turn, feel less energized. Being stressed or over weight produces breathing that is shallow and restricted. These shallow, quick breaths signal to our body that it is in distress and the sympathetic nervous system goes into fight-or-flight mode. What results is pain in the neck and shoulders, increased heart rate, raised blood pressure, inefficient sleep, anxiety, impatience, panic attacks, as well as a constant production of cortisol lending to weight gain. When the body and mind are calm, breath is deeper and cells are fortified by oxygen. We are under the influence of the parasympathetic nervous system, which produces a relaxing effect, lessening stress and over-thinking. More oxygen means we will have a sharper mind, more focus, more energy, lower blood pressure, lower heart rate, lower cortisone production, and better digestion. Some of the different classes, workshops, events and outings that we will offer are: * Meditation, yoga, pranayama classes (yogic breathing exercises), breathwork workshops, Vagus nerve exploration, sound baths, kirtans, gratitude emphasis * Aromatherapy classes and workshops * Dinners in healthy environmentally-conscious restaurants, fruit & veggie picking, picnics, potlucks, nutrition workshops, cooking classes * Outdoor actives such as hiking, and walking meditations in nature * Ways to sleep more efficiently using breathing exercises and essential oils * Challenges for weight loss and to slow drinking and recreational drug use This group offers a supportive, judgement-free environment. Our team of loyal and dedicated organizers take pride in making everyone feel welcome. Come to an event and join our caring group of friends. No previous breathwork, meditation, aromatherapy, or yoga experience needed. Many events will be free. But for others, we may ask for a small fee to cover Meetup expenses. \*No-shows and last-minute cancellations put our ability to book amazing venues at risk. We have a strict 3 strikes and you're out for 6 months policy. You must update your RSVP and cancel within 24 hours, or that is a strike. Your event organizers and other members will appreciate your courtesy, especially when there's a waitlist. Your ideas are always welcome. And if you want to bring blissful healthy breathing events to our collective...lets talk. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* *For breathing prompts throughout the day and healthy breathing education go to*: Instagram: @deepbreathin_deeperbreathout Facebook: Deeper Breath Out www.deeperbreathout.com *For Classes and workshops at Breathing Room: A Breath and Holistic Wellness Studio go to:* www.deeperbreathout.com Instagram: @_breathingroom Facebook: Breathing Room *For Aromatherapy products* www.deeperbreathout.com

Leap - Daily Conversations
Los Angeles, CA
Leap is an exciting new platform that gets people talking via conversations in small groups. At Leap, we host bite-size conversations which take place over video calls in small groups. Group numbers are kept purposefully small to mirror the intimacy of the interactions that take place in real life.
Members can choose from a selection of topics, taking place at different times throughout the day, and jump in – in the same way that they might jump into a coffee shop or hairdressers and strike up a conversation. The conversation topics themselves are varied and interesting, but most of them share a common thread – they are designed to prompt conversation and they motivate the sharing of stories and anecdotes.
Disneyland Supper Club
Los Angeles, CA
Hello there. Read on for a brief description of this group to decide if it is right for you.
The purpose of this group is to gather in small groups for a good meal and good conversation (with plenty of cocktails, beer, wine, etc...) at the Disneyland Resort (Disneyland/DCA) and then ride some rides.
Please join if you enjoy a slower paced day/evening at the parks. My events will usually be in the evenings on weeknights and also the occasional weekend boozy brunch/park day. It is not necessary to have a Magic Key--but it would definitely be helpful as you will need access to the parks for the restaurants. Also-please be a responsible adult and able to self regulate yourself.
I will hold events 2-3 times per month and will be making various restaurant reservations for us. Usually, the reservations are for 6-8 people, and the RSVP list is first come, first served. Our meeting spot will be our dining destination, and after eating, drinking, and conversation, we will decide as a group what rides we are vibing on. Then, we'll just vibe and be merry.

South Bay Walking & Hiking Group
Welcome to The South Bay Walking & Hiking Group. This group is primarily for people 49+ who are really motivated to stay active and have a good time doing so. However, anyone who enjoys what we do can also join. This means if you are below 49+(30's-40's), and you want to improve your fitness level, or if you are NOT a "tiger," or if you enjoy our other activities listed below, then please join us. Friends and relatives are always welcome at our activities and events.
To protect our members and the community, particularly children under 12 who are ineligible for vaccinations and at the mercy of the adults in their worlds, effective immediately, we are requiring that all members who attend our events be completely vaccinated against Covid. This means that you are two weeks post the final shot in whatever vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J) you have received.
Please DO NOT ATTEND our events if you are not two weeks post final vaccination shot. Also, bring a confirmation of your vaccination status to each event; you may be asked to show it.
If you got your Covid vaccine in California, you can get a Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record at
We're sorry if this goes against your personal values, but while those who choose not to get vaccinated are exercising their free choice, this Meetup group is exercising its free choice as a private group, in consideration of the increasing threat of the Delta variant and the scary prospect of an even more devastating variant that could arise as Covid continues to spread among the unvaccinated.
Our goal is to build and/or maintain a high level of fitness within our capacities and make good friends at the same time. (Walking is fun, but nothing beats walking with friends.)
Our activities take place around the South Bay, especially the Palos Verdes Peninsula and San Pedro.
The South Bay Walking & Hiking Group focuses on 4-6 mile walks, trail walks, and hikes at a moderate pace — with an occasional more strenuous or longer walk thrown in for a challenge and increased fitness. We walk on sidewalks, boardwalks, and trails, wherever the journey takes us.
Our other goal is to enjoy nature and the outdoors-- the ocean, marine animals, and habitats of our area -- so we seek routes that benefit both body and soul! We also do sunset walks to admire beautiful views available in our gorgeous area at different times of the day. Often we stop at a great café or restaurant after the hikes.
The South Bay Walking & Hiking Group branches out to other activities that are all about fitness, fun, and friendship-- like kayaking, bike riding, whale watching, dining, movies, and more. When there is interest, there will also be historical walks, inter-generational walks (i.e. walks with children), and dog walks.
In brief, we support each other to get and stay fit while enjoying good times together! Please join us!
By the way, we don't charge dues to have you join and enjoy our many exciting activities. You are totally welcome to participate in our meetup for free because your participation is already a great contribution! At the same time, we gladly accept donations. You can Donate by giving cash or check to the Event Host.
Thanks for your support and WELCOME!
In return for your participation:
We expect our Members to change their RSVP to “Not Going” from “Going” as soon as they know, especially for events that have a Waiting List.
“No Shows” are inconsiderate, especially when there is a Waiting List, and Members who have three “No Shows” will automatically be removed from future events for which there is a Waiting List, if they are on the “Going” list.
All of our Event Hosts are volunteers. They are hosting because they enjoy the activity and want others to share this enjoyment. We encourage you to try new activities with us.
Do not send unsolicited messages to members. If a member complains about receiving such messages, you will be removed from the group.
When you RSVP for our events, you assume all of the risks of participating in any/all activities associated with the South Bay Walking and Hiking Group.
You certify that you are physically fit, have sufficiently prepared or trained for participation in this activity, and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. You certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude your participation in this activity.
You acknowledge that this activity may involve a test of a person's physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, lack of hydration, and actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, monitors, and/or producers of the activity.
LA Geeky Fun Times
Los Angeles, CA
Why hello there!
Thanks so much for your interest in our fun little group. Our purpose? To find fellow like-minded individuals who enjoy the same things we all do: movies, TV shows, books, video games, board games, card games, music, concerts (when those eventually come back), some outdoors stuff (fear the day star!!!!), popular franchises like Star Wars or LotR, and much more. Or maybe you just want to find people to vent to about the final season of Game of Thrones. I know I'd like to!
Who should join? Anyone and everyone - since we are all home right now it doesn’t matter where you’re located! We welcome people of different ethnicities, cultures, backgrounds, sexual preferences, religious preferences, etc. All we ask is that you're super cool to everyone (like, don't be a weird creeper or problematic) and be accepting of others. Fandom and passions for hobbies know no bounds, so if you are into the same hobbies and passions we all are then you've found your peoples!
Due to current events, a decent chunk of everything will be virtual, but I will constantly be looking for ways to have safe outdoor gatherings (drive-in movies, for example) ...again, safety first and all that jazz.
Some "rules" (I hate to do it, but this is the Internet):
• No hate speech
• No abuse/bullying
• No threats, doxxing
• This isn't Tinder, so please don't treat it as such
• If you will partake in alcohol or other controlled substances during events for this group, please do so in a responsible way. There definitely are levels of inebriation/intoxication that aren't cute or good/safe for the group
• Be excellent to each other
• If on camera, make sure your "cash and prizes" are covered before standing up O_o
Peeps of LA & Beyond 🚀 (20s/30s Social)
Los Angeles, CA
Welcome to the nexus! For folks who may be new this group is going to be an Eastside County or West Orange County focused millennial-aimed group for us to get off our computers and phones to go network and meetup in real life. Over the years I've had a lot of good experiences doing various young professionals events all throughout the east side of Downtown whether in Pasadena, Arcadia, San Gabriel, or Arts District and I hope for y'all to join us too.
The kinds of events you will see on here will be a sampling of what LA has to offer, from mixers and bar or coffee crawls, art nights, trips, game nights, movies, classes for archery or dance, or anything else that members might find interesting (and please send recommendations). Note that the reason I call this group a Nexus is because it will have a lot of events or places that I've found through meetup and now want to share with like-minded folks who might be in the same place on life.
So if you have any recommendations let me know and feel free to send ideas or spots in the area. Hope to see y'all soon!
We want to create a safe community where people can mingle and connect naturally. This can be a slow process regarding vetting new members to help us avoid a lot of issues that the other meetups have to deal with. Please understand that this vetting can include up to in person referrals because unfortunately too many bad apples have taken advantage of a lot of the other groups out there. So apologies if this may seem super strict!
PS: Meeting new people is all about respect and personal safety is crucial, so that being in mind, so personal conduct is key as we are all a bunch of strangers in public settings and listening to others should always be maintained. With that in mind if any member is harassing you online or in real life that you haven't met then please inform an organizer so we can act on said individuals including and up to a ban from the group. Please no bar fights or extra drama :P
Disclaimer: Group organizers and assistant organizers assume no liability in any of the activities you participate in. By being a member of this group you hereby agree to assume all risks and liability related to or resulting from any group functions. You agree that neither you nor any third party will hold any of the group's leaders, officers, or representatives liable for injury, loss, or damage to your own person or any members of your family, friends, acquaintances, children, pets or property, arising directly or as a consequence from a group activity. You also agree that your membership of this group is based on an "at will" basis.
6. For events designated as Family-Style Dining: Dining for this event has been designated as Family-Style. The food bill will be split evenly between all attendees. Attendees will be responsible for paying for their own beverages. Please note that flexibility is an important part of family-style dining, and if you want to take a chance on attending, you have to be amenable to what the group/AO will order. You don't have to eat everything that is ordered, but everyone pays equally, whether you eat everything or not. Most of the dishes we order will be at least moderately spicy. If this definition of Family-Style Dining doesn't feel comfortable, this may not be the right type of event for you. In addition, if you have ANY dietary restrictions or ingredients you do not wish to consume, then you may want to skip this event. Ordering dishes modified to fit someone's dietary needs or personal tastes will alter the true flavors of those dishes for the rest of the group.
7. Be sure to bring CASH to pay for your portion of the bill.
8. COVID-19 Rules for attending any of our events: Attend if you have received at least one Pfizer or Moderna, or Janssen J&J shot and will provide proof of vaccine shots by CDC's V-Safe passport displayed on your smartphone, or show a photo or printed copy of your Covid-19 vaccination card. Also attend, if you are comfortable with the fact that we will be seated at tables that will provide at least 1 to 2 feet distance from the person sitting on either side of you. Do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms such as fever (I will have a forehead thermometer on hand to check everyone's temperature), cough, runny nose/sinus congestion. Everyone will have their own communal fork and spoon to serve themselves food -- do not use them to eat from. Arrive wearing a face mask - remove it only when eating or drinking - if we are waiting for food, please put your mask back on, and when you leave to the table for the restroom, etc. Watch your conversation volume to avoid spraying your saliva over the table and food. I apologize for all these rules, but we must be as safe as possible to prevent the spread of Covid-19. If you cannot agree with these rules, please do not attend.
Redondo Beach Outdoor Salsa Dancing + More South Bay Fun🕺🏻
Redondo Beach, CA
We're Vitamin Sea lovers who also love to dance, meet new friends, and enjoy life. All skill levels welcome and dancing is, of course, optional. I am not a professional DJ. We're grown humans enjoying the gorgeous views and outrageously perfect weather while making new friends. We'll dance, create good times, and perhaps pop over to a local restaurant afterwards. All ages welcome--- doggies, as well.
I will also post events that don't involve dancing... unless, of course, we decide to break out in dance on a hike or at a restaurant. Anything is possible!
Coffee and Friends
Los Angeles, CA
Welcome, all brothers and sisters of Christ around the world! We are a group of Christian friends who want to have meaningful, intentional conversations about our faith.
We plan to have fellowship nights, opportunities to dive into the Bible more deeply, and host special speakers from the local community. All are welcome!
P.S. you don't have to like coffee to join :)
