This walk we will enjoy nature and listen to our beautiful wildlife.
Clay Gully Trail is one of my favorite shaded Myakka hikes! And it was dry, but please wear closed-toe shoes**
PARK AT HIGH FOX ROAD TRAILHEAD:

Fox High Road (our starting point and parking spot) is closer to the North Gate: The North Gate (CLOSED except on weekends).
THE HIKE: We will start the hike at Fox High Road and hike along to Mossy Hammock, the Florida Trail, and then back to Fox High Road.
The hike is about 5 miles or more.
BRING: enough water, hat, a snack and bug spray. I Also bring a small emergency kit, just in case.
This is a walk to enjoy nature and listen to wildlife.
If you’re a talker, please be courteous of others who want to listen to nature.
Myakka River State Park charges a fee to enter. The fee is per vehicle (less for single-occupant vehicles).

You MUST be on the meetup list to hike with us, and you should be able to walk 6 miles or more.
And yes, it always states it will rain...but it might not; that's Florida weather.

And I repeat this: Bring enough water and snacks for your hike. And if needed, bring sunscreen, a hat, bug repellent, and anything you need to make your hike comfortable. We will take small regular breaks.
IF HEAVY RAINS OCCUR IN THE PRECEDING DAYS, THERE MAY BE WATER TO WADE THROUGH. Hikers, please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.
