Owahee and Apoxee Trail Hike 5-Miles

We will be hiking at a moderate pace on the Apoxee trail to the Owahee trail and back to the Apoxee Trail to the main parking lot.

Let's meet at 7:15 AM and start hiking no later than 7:30 AM. We start on time, so please don't be late or you will be hiking by yourself!

The hike will be mostly on a multi-use gravel trail with very little shade, so wear comfortable shoes and a hat. There is always a possibility that you will get your feet wet and/or muddy on the Apoxee trail, so plan accordingly.

Bring plenty of water (2-liters), snacks, a hat and anything else that you will need for the hike. We will be making a 5-mile loop, and take breaks as needed, but shade is very limited on this trail.

NOTE: If you want to bring a guest, they will have to register on Meetup and RSVP separately. Please be courteous and arrive on time.

Directions:
From Florida's Turnpike, take the Okeechobee exit. Head west and turn right on Jog Road, continue straight for a little over a mile and the entrance to the park will be on your left.
