Study Jams are community-run study groups for developers. In this official Flutter Study Jam from Google, you will be guided by a live instructor to implement a simple mobile app that generates proposed names for a startup company. You'll learn how to write a Flutter app that looks natural on both iOS and Android. You'll discover the basic structure of a Flutter app, how to implement stateless and stateful widgets, and how to create an infinite, lazily loaded list. You will also learn how to find and use third-party packages to extend functionality, and how to use hot reload for a quicker development cycle.
Your instructor will be Jose Vila. Previously a Mobile SDK Developer at Oracle, Jose currently works as an Android Engineer at Backbase by day, and as the Lead Android Instructor for the non-profit coding program "Pursuit" in Long Island City by night — an organization dedicated to helping members of underrepresented communities transition from low-income underemployment, to their dream jobs in the NYC Tech Ecosystem.
