RE: [flyleafbooklovers] Meetup organizer

Hello, Vanessa,

I’d be happy to take on the task.  As it turns out, I’m a meetup Organizer for another group which gets very little traffic.  I’d be happy to work with Kate on the tasks of choosing books and communicating about the schedule.  I’m not sure what’s involved in taking over the site.  I like the appearance of the BookLovers site and it would be nice to have the history as well.

I noticed a number of other groups that automatically charge $1 for meeting dues.  Makes sense to share the burden a bit.

Let me know what I should do.

Evelyn

I would be willing to share the cost and responsibility with one or two others.  Kate Carroll

Hello all, I am wondering if any of you is interested in taking over the group as Meetup Organizer. I have been involved behind the scenes for awhile but haven't been making it to meetings. If there is someone who feels committed to helping choose the book for each month and communicating with Flyleaf about our discussion schedule that would be great. I don't mind doing these things, either, and would be happy to continue if it weren't for the organizer fee paid to meetup.com twice a year. Now we've started collecting dues at each discussion, so that helps contribute to the cost. Right now is not a good time for me financially and while dues might eventually pay it back, I don't feel comfortable charging the amount on my card now as I have had unexpected expenses recently I want to pay off. The meetup fee is $72 twice a year, I believe. any takers? Happy thanksgiving!
