Fellowship of Freethought maintains an environmental focus as one of our foremost humanitarian efforts. For years, the Adopt-a-highway program has been our most consistent means of seeing this through. This is our edition of the state-wide Trash-Off event which had to be postponed due to weather. The Don't Mess With Texas Trash-Off is the signature event for the Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest community improvement program. TxDOT’s litter prevention program, which includes Don’t mess with Texas, Adopt-a-Highway, and a grassroots partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful. We, at Fellowship of Freethought, have been cleaning our adopted highway since 2010. Taking care of our environment is a core value of our organization and you will meet some of the best people in our organization at this event.
Scout groups who participate can earn a special Don’t mess with Texas Scout Patch.
Let's give the planet a little love and FoF will provide lunch after!
We start in the middle of our prominent 2-mile stretch at Walgreens and carry our trash to the FOF signs as requested by the Texas Adopt a Highway program.
Reflective vests, gloves, and trash bags will be provided. Please bring water and wear comfortable shoes!
Children must be at least 7 years of age to participate because this is a busy road.
We will meet El Fenix afterward for lunch and socializing!
