Have you ever performed music in front of an audience (not counting Karaoke or social jams)?

Yes. I was in a folk group in college, then with a folk rock group for a couple of years in the early 70's. Now performing with Shenandoah Run. In the photo, I'm standing on the left.

Do you play or are you learning a musical instrument? If so, which?

I use a Taylor 12-string and am a competent strummer and an adequate picker.

Who's your #1 favorite folk or folk-rock performer? Or, who are some of your favorites?

That's a tough one! I loved certain songs from many different groups--The Kingston Trio, The Wayfarers, Peter, Paul, and Mary, The Journeymen, John Denver, Joe and Eddie, The Phoenix Singers!

What are some of your favorite folk or folk-rock songs?

Wagon Wheel and Follow It On by Shenandoah Run I'm Going Home -- Kingston Trio Greenland Whale Fisheries -- Chad Mitchell Trio Hurry Sundown and When the Ship Comes In -- PP&M Violets of Dawn -- Eric Anderson What's That I Hear -- Joe and Eddie

Tell us anything else about yourself you'd care to tell. Answering all these questions is optional, but we're interested.

Performed with folk groups during and after college and am now performing with Shenandoah Run, a group formed mostly of folks from SOJO.

What HenryM is saying about this Meetup Group

I'm impressed with the versatility, talent, and knowledge within the group. I didn't think there were many folk songs I hadn't heard until I attended my first SOJO. I couldn't have been more wrong--in a good way though.
