Folk songs in Budapest

Washington, DC
Post #: 2
Greetings from Budapest. It's lovely here, with a lot to see and do. The city is lovely, and I often spend the weekends walking through the streets. And, there are plenty of cultural events. The mangalica pig festival was just a couple weeks ago, right in front of the embassy. Work is also keeping me quite busy. But, I miss the SOJOs. So, I decided to work with our "American Corner" (a cultural center affiliated with the Embassy) and begin a monthly folk singing get together. We're calling it MUSE (Music Unites us in Song Event). About 30 people came to the first one last week. You'll see a notice about in about half way down the page at the following link:

All the best from Budapest

Thanks so much for the message! Glad you are doing well and keeping music in your life. 30 people to your first gathering -- that's wonderful! -- Margi
