A long and steady walk with breathtaking views on Blessington area
This walk starts on the shore of the Ballynahown lake in Ballyknockan by the local pub. We start by a forest walk before heading up to Silsean (700m). A nice down and up walk to Moanbane (700m). On our way to Black Hill (590m), we will pass by Billy Byrne's Gap. We will make our way back following the road.
There is no specific difficulty, it is a great way to start hitting the mountain areas and walk on dirt tracks and across typical Irish mountain landscape.
• Good hiking shoes (waterproof recommended - avoid no runners)
