West Ham United v Arsenal
Details
We made it, after a long and hard season. This is the last FWP without anything on the line for the season. Not that it isn't vitally important for both teams here, as relegation-threatened West Ham United host Champions-elect Arsenal at the London Stadium.
We've been watching as Tottenham Hotspur have looked in desperate danger of going down this season. These past two weeks have seen Spurs grab 6 vital points, which has piled the pressure on London rivals West Ham United, who now occupy the final relegation position in the league. One of these massive teams is likely going down, and with just three games to go, it's in their own hands to win as many points from those on offer to ensure they will be playing Premier League football next season. West Ham are currently just 1 point behind Spurs.
It's all been going off at the top of the table too. Arsenal and Manchester City have been baiting each other, both threatening to be worse than the other, dropping points like they don't need them. Most recently, Arsenal showed they do realize that not only wins but also goals are going to be very important as they cruised past Fulham last week 3-0. Title rivals City played on Monday evening and grabbed a last-minute point in a 3-3 draw with Everton, which was edge-of-the-seat excitement but threw the momentum back in the Gunners favor. Arsenal currently lead by 5 points, with City having one extra game before re all said and done. (So, when it's all square, the gap will likely be only 2 points)
West Ham fell into the drop zone last week. At this stage in the season, they cannot afford to throw any more points away as they scrap to survive. Realistically, they need to win all their remaining games, and that includes this one! Arsenal also cannot drop any more points, potentially letting Man City back into a title race they have in their hands.
