How much experience do you have? (never kayaked before, rented a kayak a few times, an avid paddler, etc.)

Started canoeing many moons ago in MD, tried kayaks a bit after retiring to NC, but wanted a very light boat. Switched to a 30# Wenonah Vag KUL solo canoe but run it with a long Greenland Paddle to keep up with all my yak pals. Paddle and lead trips a few times a month in winter with the Trail and River Rovers of Eastern NC Meetup Group (Meetup/TRREC1/) and a local Pamlico River advocacy group, more in summer - day trips and paddle camping. Almost all flat coastal water.

Do you own a kayak ?
