The American Club of Lyon was founded in 1987 to bring American expatriates together to share their common cultural background and to share American traditions with our members, their families, and friends in the Rhône-Alpes region.
We support the global American expatriate community through our membership in FAWCO (Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas, Inc.), an international network of independent volunteer clubs and associations.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and our desire to reduce its spread as much as possible, we’re moving Coffee Chat into the virtual world. The bad news is that we don’t get to see each other in real life, but the good news is people who are normally unable to attend Coffee Chat due to things like having a day job and other responsibilities might be able to join us here, since they might be working from home and on their computers anyway.
In order to get access to Virtual Coffee Chat, you can send a friend request to Joe CoffeeChat on Facebook (at https://www.facebook.com/joe.coffeechat.3), and you’ll then be sent an invitation to the Facebook event. Once you’re a part of the event, you’re free to invite others to Virtual Coffee Chat. Bring a friend. Everyone is welcome whether they are a member of the American Club or not!
So, in summary:
Step 1: Send a Facebook friend request to Joe CoffeeChat at https://www.facebook.com/joe.coffeechat.3 to be added to the private Facebook event.
Step 2: At 9:30 Tuesday morning, visit the Virtual Coffee Chat Facebook event at https://www.facebook.com/events/2847890605294624/ and post in the event to let people know you are available and ready to be added to a conversation.
