À propos de ce groupe

As we gear up for the 2020 election cycle, it's more important than ever for us to join together around the issues that are important to all of us.

In that spirit, The Resistance JC is proud to announce that we are merging with the fantastic, like-minded non-profit Force The Issue NJ starting May 1st. As we unite our groups, we will begin to phase out our meetup group and migrate to the soon-to-be-relaunched FTINJ website. We will also be merging our social media groups. The new website will have some powerful organizational and calendar tools that will be helpful for groups, orgs, and individuals alike.

What that means for you, is that you will have a whole new hub to connect you to events, issues, and activist opportunities here in Hudson County, and throughout New Jersey.

Join us at Zeppelin Hall at 1pm on May 11th as we kick off and celebrate our new direction!

Volunteer to feed the needy at Sharing Place

St. Paul's Lutheran Church

**Please only RSVP if you plan to attend. I need to let them know in advance how many people will be coming. Thanks!** The Sharing Place at St. Paul Lutheran Church offers bags of groceries or ready-made meals to needy people on the last two Saturdays of every month, 8 am to noon. We serve nutritious food to over 600 families and individuals per month. This number has grown at a rate of about 15% per year for the past several years. We need 15-20 volunteers each Saturday of operation to fully staff the Sharing Place. Many volunteers are members and friends of St. Paul Church, but many come from the neighborhood and from community groups. Some volunteers carry boxes of food, but there are lighter jobs too, including packing bags or making baloney-and-cheese sandwiches.
