Heights Meditation was founded in August 2011 by James Loney to give Northern Manhattan meditators a "home base" where they can practice meditation. Most people find that meditation is most easy and impactful when practiced regularly with others. Our goal in getting together and supporting each other in this way are simple: we seek to bring clarity, equinimity, and peace-of-mind into our everyday lives.

Heights Meditation meetings are held every day of the week to help newbies and old-timers build and broaden their meditation practice. We maintain this Meetup.com website to keep you abreast of our schedule, which occasionally changes at short notice. Our other website, which explains more about how we meet and what we do when we meet, can be viewed at HeightsMeditation.net.

Please note that many of our member meditators attend meetings several times per week and do not RSVP here. If the daily schedule shows only the daily moderator attending a particular meeting, come along and let yourself be delighted by meeting the other regularly attending meditators. Evening Meditation in Washington Heights at MindBodySoul Yoga

Wednesday evening meditation at MindBodySoul Yoga is a chance for those who prefer to meditate in the evening to begin, strengthen, and solidify their practice. Early evening is a perfect time of day to slow down and leave the cares of the day behind you. Decompress from the day and get into an evening of peace and bliss! The weekly Wednesday evening sitts will emphasize the simple experience of getting into your breath and body and abiding "there" in mindful peace. This is an instructional meditation for all levels of experience. Yoga classes offered by MindBodySoul Yoga are available both before and after the evening sitt if you wish to participate in those. Everyone is welcome to attend and sitt with us. The suggested donation of $10 is based on your ability to pay. Give what you can and leave happier and full of renewed life. Admittance to the sitt is possible from 6:15 - 6:45 PM; each sitt will conclude by 7:00 PM.
