We believe that science should be accessible, affordable, and open to everyone and that bio-engineering and greater public understanding has an enormous potential to create a better world and accelerate scientifically progress.
You want to know about DNA and proteins? You want to "Just do it"? We are establishing a vibrant community of bio science users and equipment makers and contribute to greater community bio education. Let's get together for some biotechnology!
This is a club where anyone can learn about genetics and biology. We will do anything from extracting DNA to using CRISPR, programming with DNA, and making gel electrophoresis devices.
No prior knowledge required, and all skill and age levels are welcome!
Join us to learn and bio-engineer new organisms, collaborate with others, and embark on some exciting biotech projects. We welcome curious people of all walks of life, all ages and affiliations, independent researchers, biohackers, citizen scientists, and curious members of the public alike! This is an interdisciplinary field and we are also building new equipment so your design, mechanical, electronic and software skills are appreciated.
We meet in the Ottawa area to make new things, discuss new projects as well as participate in workshops and projects.
We are is a totally free club run by volunteers where everybody is equal and serve our community. There are plenty of ways to get involved, by becoming a member, attend or present a workshop, teach or take a seminar or change the world. Join us!
