  • Parc at Midnight: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

    Lieu visible par les membres

Hey Geeks! It's been a long time! Cinema du Parc is doing a series of classic nocturnal screenings that should be pretty awesome! Let's follow Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo in their 1998 classic, as they chase the American Dream through a drug-induced haze. https://www.youtube.com/embed/8m662obIvhY?rel=0&controls=0&showinfo=0 I didn't put a limit, as you need to buy tickets yourself from Cinema du Parc. Tickets can be bought at... https://omniwebticketing.com/cinemaduparc/?schdate=2017-06-16&perfix=16501 It's a 8 minute walk from Metro Place-des-Arts. P.s Just because this is a drug movie doesn't mean we need to be doing them. I will be drinking water and eating popcorn. "The possibility of physical and mental breakdown is now very real. No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride." - Raoul Duke.

  • Archery Lessons

    Sports de Combats

Archery is a great way to make friends - you can learn a new and unique skill while meeting new people! We know that it's difficult to pick up archery as a hobby, due to the equipment costs and finding a suitable range. We try to make it as easy as possible by providing all the necessary equipment as part of our lessons. These archery lessons are recommended for beginners who have not had any formal archery training or those who have not shot archery for a long period of time. There are no prerequisites - just show up and we will provide all the equipment. This is one 90-minute lesson, and you will finish the course with knowledge of basic safety concepts, basic archery form, and an understanding of the parts of the bow and equipment. The regular price is $40 per person, but I can host the meetup for $20 per person, paid at the door. https://sportsdecombats.com/archery-lessons-montreal

This new exhibition runs from March 9 to September 2, 2013 and is free with general admission. So let's check this out and maybe catch something to eat afterwards around Old Port. • Nerd Nite - Brain, Religion and Art

    theatre ste catherine

Nerd Nite is like seeing three TED talks, except the talks are modest about being world-changing ideas and you may or may not be drinking beer. The franchise of Nerd Nite had its inception in New York City and has since spread to the order of one-hundred cities all over the world. Montreal was not one of them... until now! Nerd Nite will hopefully become a monthly event, but that's contingent upon the success of this premiere. The three speakers who will be kicking off Nerd Nite Montreal are Peter Hartman, who will be talking about how science isn't at conflict with religion like we think it is; Najmeh Khalili-Mahani, who will be talking about how our brains respond to stress; and Natalie Zina Walschots, who will be talking about the ways that video games resist critique as pieces of art. Between talks, meet fellow nerds and answer trivia questions!
