“Amélie.” 2001. French romantic comedy directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and starring Audrey Tautou. A whimsical story of a young café waitress who wishes only to do things that will make unhappy people happy. In this she largely succeeds but in turn has trouble finding her own romantic happiness. Will she find the young man of her dreams? The film won four Césars and won or was nominated for many, many other international awards.
