Getting Started with KVM Virtualization

Ted Brunell from Red Hat will talk about KVM and about how Ted setup his systems to take advantage of KVM virtualization.  During this talk, Ted will cover what virtualization is and why someone would want it, how to install Linux to enable KVM virtualization, and how to install Linux in a virtual machine.

Great event. Nicely done with hands-on. Look forward for the slide presentation posting. Maybe next one with some deep dive with the scripts and do live migration.

The presentation is posted at. I like the idea for a follow-up discussion the includes more on virsh and how to set up live migration. We would probably need more hardware for that though since it requires shared storage. There is information on the KVM website about migrations at http://www.linux-kvm..... Another project that might be a good topic for discussion is oVirt ().

Guys, I'm really sorry not be able to attend. My youngest graduated W&M in May and just got a job at an applied materials research lab. He had to buy a car, to get to work on this Tuesday, which we did yesteday, after 3 weekends of looking, so I'm choosing to teach him about fluid changes, tire pressure, proper jacking procedures, and etc. He also needs some tools. Very sorry to miss a "Tedspectacular" presentation!

I haven’t been able to attend meetings for months now.
This looks interesting; I think I can make this one and I will try to attend.
