The American Tea Party and its relevance to Australia

Greetings all,

After a bit of discussion with the other organisers, we've decided to assign a topic for each meeting of the Prosperity and Freedom club.  The theme for the upcoming meeting, as stated above, is 'The American Tea Party and it's relevance to Australia'.  This is perhaps timely given the recent launch of the Australian Taxpayers Alliance.

While the first meeting was more an informal discussion amongst members, it has been suggested that we adopt a more structured format for subsequent meetups.   The general idea would be to have two or three people give a short presentation on the topic, followed by informal discussions within smaller groups for the remainder of the meeting.  It may even be worthwhile to continue the conversations online and reflect on any useful ideas that were borne out these discussions.

For this meetup, we have two speakers that will give a short presentation each: Charles Fournier, a local representative from Republicans Abroad,  and Tom White, who has recently returned from a Mannkal internship at FreedomWorks in Washington DC.

For those that wish to continue the discussions, we'll be heading to George’s Meze Greek Restaurant for dinner immediately after the meeting finishes.

Hope to see you all there.

Stuart

I had a lovely time; thank you to Ron and Stuart for organising this. I do enjoy being cranky in a welcoming and non-judgmental environment ...
