Speak FRENCH and WALK on the BEACH

Let's start off the weekend with a Promenade on Shelter Island, a la Francaise!

That's right, we'll meet in Point Loma on Shelter Island next to the fishing pier across the street from the Blue Wave Bar and Grill (2051 Shelter Island Drive, 92106) at 9:30am this Saturday. The fishing pier and the nearby Tunamen statue are within Shoreline Park. We'll walk east along the water's edge towards the Bali Hai Restaurant and then loop around to stop at Point Loma Seafoods (2805 Emerson Street) for a drink and sandwich. We may eat there or bring our snacks back to Shoreline Park for a small picinic.

Directions: Take Rosecrans Street south to Point Loma. Turn left (southwest) at Shelter Island Drive. Continue onto Shelter Island to the roundabout. Go right (west) at the roundabout past Humphrey's and look for the fishing pier on your left in the park. Public parking is next to the pier.

The main focus is to speak French, meet new people, and enjoy the beach in the morning. We will mostly be speaking in French, so this is for average to advanced speakers. But if you are learning and want to listen in, pas de probleme.

Wearing your French beret, French maid outfit, and bringing a bucket of French fries is highly recommended, but absolutely optional. :D

Though, please note, dogs are not allowed at the park. We will wait about 10 min. before leaving for the walk. So you can catch up with us if you are late.

PS - If you don't RSVP you won't be able get last minute notices as in cancellations, time/location changes, etc...)

This meetup is always free of charge and generously sponsored by Sophie Juster, a certified french teacher from Paris. Check out her site at www.fromenglishtofrench.com. The rates for the lessons start at $9.99/hr.

New friendships and to speak my first language in San Diego would be great.
