FIRST WATER CREEK UPPER LOOP - Superstitions Sat, Feb 1
Leader: Phil Newell ([masked]) Length: 7.2 miles

MEET in south end of the Home Depot parking lot (Power Rd & Superstition Springs), DEPART @7:30 am * Elev Change: 710 ft
This is a really nice day hike in the Superstitions. We start by taking the Dutchman Trail from the trailhead and then we will follow a loop from the Dutchman Trail, through the First Water Creek bed, out into the wide West Boulder Canyon, down into O'Grady Canyon, and then back on the Dutchman. We will be following the creek bed for much of the hike, so there is a slight chance of wet feet! If the creek has flowing water, we should see nice waterfalls. We may need to take a diversion here and there if there is a lot of water and that means Cat Claw!, so long pants may be helpful.
Also bring hand trimmers and gloves to improve the way for those who will follow.
Rated at Moderate as we may be off trail to avoid water as necessary.
After the hike we will stop for an early dinner in Apache Junction.
* Or meet at the First Water trailhead @ 8:00 am
