The conditions in Myles Standish are wonderful for skiers, snowshoers, and hikers. Get out there and enjoy it if you can.
In our last several hikes, some have sported snowshoes, while others have added crampons and some have just lumbered along in their big boots. Monday, the two inches of fresh snow on the packed down bike paths near the East Entrance would have made them perfect for cross country skis. We went off the bike path and enjoyed a hike in the unbroken snow along a section of the Friends Trail.
On Thursday, while the rest of New England is getting walloped, the forecast is currently for mostly rain in Plymouth. Forecasts change, however, and we usually manage to get out there.
Meet us for breakfast at Panera Bread in the Shops at Five off Long Pond Road. Our hikes our usually about two hours.
