Let's get together at a bar/restaurant created specifically for dog-owning humans, The Bark Bar. It has an indoor restaurant area, an outdoor patio for dining and a doggie play yard.
The doggie play yard is surface of wood chips. There are a few places where there might be a bit of mud on a wet day, so expect your dog's level of post-event cleanliness to be dirty but not supremely disgusting.
Here's what their website has to say: Catering to urban dogs and their thirsty humans, The Bark Bar features a full coffee bar, free wi-fi, a wide selection of craft beers, wine, spirits, and a fenced-in yard where dogs can play off-leash. We have patio heaters, blankets and hot toddies for chilly days. All patrons except the furry kind must be 21 and over.
Here are a few of their guidelines: dogs must be spayed/neutered and vaccinated. No children (must be 21). Pick up poo. No food in the dog area (only on patio and indoors). No dogs indoors, and dogs must be on leash in the patio area.
Street parking is available on Raleigh and Quitman. Do not park in lots for neighboring businesses, where the rumor is that you will be towed.
This will be a great location for a get-to-know-you sort of atmosphere, where we can discuss upcoming summer exploits of hiking, swimming and other doggie fun. Let me know if you have questions about this location and/or event and I will try to find out answers!
Please consider making a purchase of food or beverage at this event to support the venue. They do not charge for us to meet here. : )
(I'm sorry about the restriction of the 21 and over if there are younger members. You will not be excluded from other events, I promise!)
