There is a ANOTHER group calling themselves Frugal Fashionista Clothing Swap. Our name and images are trade marked but I can't get into their group, I'm assuming they didn't think they would hear from me.
WE ARE BRINGING BACK THE POTLUCK~ IF YOU BRING A DISH (NO CHIPS, PRETZELS OR THE LIKE), YOUR ENTRY FEE IS $10. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO BEING A DISH, YOUR ENTRY FEE WILL BE $15. YOU CAN DROP OFF YOUR DISH WHEN YOU DROP OFF YOUR CLOTHING. WE HAVE MULTI PLUGS AND AN EXTENSION CORD TO KEEP CROCK POT DISHES HOT. WE'RE LOOKING FOR ACTUAL MEALS RATHER THAN SNACKS, Please.

Why do we do this?
This is not just a way to get awesome new- to -you duds (although that's absolutely awesome!!!) ...it's actually a charity based organization who support local domestic violence shelters by donating the remaining clothes, shoes and accessories to the shelters. We donate the funds that we raise from entry fees, raffle ticket sales as well as vendor fees to two groups now. We were only supporting RAINN (RAPE, ABUSE and INCEST NATIONAL NETWORK) but are now supporting the Polaris Group /Project as well who help women and children who have either been rescued or escaped Human Sex Trafficking! Yes, children as young as 3 years old being forced to have sex with men sometimes up to 10 times a day! That's what really punched me in the heart, the kids. Not that the women who suffer from sex slavery are less important - I just imagined my own children being snatched from the street and forced to have sex with one man after another all day and night and it made me want to vomit! So, I've decided to split the collected funds between teh Polaris Group and RAINN. Human Sex Trafficking is in EVERY CITY IN THE UNITED STATES. It's ugly, it's the ugly truth and people don't want to talk about it and pretend it's not happening. Do you know all of your neighbors? It could be going on right under your nose. Okay, getting off of the soap box. Plain and simple -we now also support the Polaris Project.
The Lincolnia Senior Center has plenty of room for 300 swappers and for 6 -8 vendors -it IS on the metro / bus line! More info on VENDORS below.

Welcome to a whole new way of shopping... Swap - Don't shop -for all the clothing, shoes and accessories you can take home!
ALL SWAPS FROM NOW ON ARE FOR ALL SIZES. They are also ALL SEASON swaps.
Please bring at least 5 pieces of clothing and 2 accessories (jewelry, handbags, scarves, shoes, etc.) to add to our tables. Bring your whole closet if you like - Keep in mind that you can take as much as you like without limitation. There were a select few dishonest women who have been caught selling their items on FB and Ebay and they have been removed from the group.
Clothing drop off from 1PM- 1:30PM
Swap from 1:30-3:30 - we will pack up earlier IF everyone clears out early. Please come on time;)
Volunteers - please arrive at 12:00PM to set up the tables. Please be prompt as we have less time to set up. Clothing will begin coming in at 1PM so the tables need to be dressed and ready before items are to be laid out. (table cloths, size signs, and decorations) THESE GET PUT OUT BEFORE CLOTHING, SHOES AND ACCESSORIES GET PUT ON THE TABLES.
VENDORS – please contact me at [masked] if you are interested in renting a table for the swap. The fee is $30 plus 2 raffle worthy gifts that can be raffled off at a future clothing swap. So message me to let me know what you will be selling so as not to get any duplicate vendors and then once cleared, please make $40 PayPal payment to [masked] OR mail well in advance to Kim Pratt 18406 Cabin Rd. Triangle, VA 22172 (Check or money order) All fees will be donated to RAINN and the Polaris Group) Spaces are limited on a first come, first served basis. Payment in full is expected to secure your table. No refunds once payment has been made. Please just bring a table, table cloth and your goods for sale!
CHECK IN TABLE:
First - when you come in, you will need to stop at the sign in table, pay your entry fee which is $10 at the door if you bring a hot dish or $15 if you choose not to bring a dish. –cash ONLY, please. Please ensure you bring enough sturdy bags for you to haul your treasures home in;) We can not supply bags.
Next, head over to the sorting table and drop off your clothing to be inspected and sorted and drop off your dish. After that, please have a seat outside of the swap room and form a line or come back 1:30PM. You may also sit in the cafeteria in the back (please do not close this door or it self locks) Please refrain from having any food or drinks in the cafeteria area.
This is an altruistic group – working for the benefit of those in need. We DO NOT fight or argue over clothing. We don’t earn an income, we simply recoup the costs we lay out of pocket for all the things that need to be purchased for each swap. Keep in mind where these clothing are going after the swap. Domestic Violence Shelters! So while you are benefiting by gaining lots of new- to- you items, the main goal is to have plenty left over for the shelters and to raise money for RAINN & the Polaris group.
Permanent team members will not pay for entry. Volunteers pay full price ($10) but are still able to get your 5 pre-swap items.

I have collected lots of great items from the good people of etsy and around town for great raffle items and swag bag items! Please take the time to visit our sponsor's sites and support their small businesses! We couldn't raise money for RAINN without these sponsors so please… show your gratitude and support to them!
SPECIAL NOTE, MOST OF THE ITEMS I HAVE RECEIVED SO FAR COME FROM ETSY.COM.... WELLLLLL BAD NEWS AND WE NEED YOUR HELP! SEE BELOW PLEASE.
(I have been banned from Etsy for soliciting merchandise from etsy vendors. I even tried to set up a new account which was banned almost immediately so they must be tracking my IP address). What does this mean? It means that the raffle prizes will start to run dry and we'll have nothing to raffle off to raise money for RAINN and the Polaris group. Any ideas are welcomed to help me get free items to raffle off. ) This is the reason for having vendors donate two raffle prizes as well as their payment, BUT WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY VENDORS AS OF LATE SO IF YOU FIND SOMETHING IN YOUR HOME THAT WOULD MAKE A GOOD RAFFLE PRIZE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE - PLEASE BRING THE ITEM/S TO ME AT THE CHECK IN TABLE. THANK YOU!
I will open the swap up 5 minutes early to those who volunteered to help set up. Each volunteer can choose 5 items for themselves in the 5 minutes given. There will be a 50/50 raffle to benefit RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) so please bring a few bucks if you plan on purchasing a ticket or two. Some money will be recouped for the soda I provide & any supplies I purchase and the rest will go to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network)
Make sure clothing is clean, no stains, no holes, rips or tears and no broken buttons or zippers. If you would be PROUD to pass it on to your girlfriends, than you should bring it. Please do not bring undergarments, hose, or swimsuits, unless they are brand new in original packaging.
To avoid having stained and ripped items as some people have brought in the past, we now reserve the right to go through your clothing at the drop off point. Please don't embarrass yourselves by bringing clothing and accessories that do not meet the quality criteria of the swap, nor contribute to the spirit of the swap.
If you should find something unswappable on any of the tables, please contact a member of the support team to remove the item. They will be wearing pink/black aprons so they can be easily identified ;) No one should be disappointed by the quality of the items at the swap, whether it be clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. because it is YOUR job to police the tables for unwearables as you go through each table. You can call attention to it to a volunteer or simply toss it out. Use your best judgment.
If you are bringing guests, please ensure to add them to your RSVP.
Last, but not least, bring your swaptastik fun attitude and plan to come and have a blast!

WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS!
· Contact Dianna Moy, FFCS Co-Organizer, by email: [masked] . Once you have been approved, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Dianna. Make sure you bring that confirmation email (printed or on phone) for entry into the swap because only approved volunteers will be allowed in the room before the swap.
· Volunteers will be assigned a task/job, and are expected to stay through cleanup. The number of volunteers will be limited and assigned on an on a first come, first serve basis, to the tasks. Please let us know if you have any physical disabilities, so we can assign you to an appropriate task.
· When you arrive at the swap, please check in and out with Dianna Moy who will be manning the potluck table.
· Volunteers will be given and wear name tags or FFCS aprons so that you can be easily identified throughout the entire swap. Volunteers are expected to be high energy, engage swappers in conversation, answer any questions in their area, and bring a spirit of fun to the swap.
· What you'll get for all of your hard and appreciated work... Five (5) items of your choice before the beginning of the swap, and front-of-the-line entry into the swap.
