"How diversity and inclusion is disrupting Tech"
Join us as Avery Francis, Sr. Talent Manager from shares how inclusion and diversity in the workplace in calling for positive change and disrupting the world of tech. How do you hire for a diverse workforce? How can we change our thinking to be more inclusive? How do you create an inclusive, supporting environment for your organization? Avery will be discussing the benefits of building an inclusive workplace, The difference between diversity and inclusion and how industry leaders are working to bridge this gap in tech. Join us for an open and transparent talk about the complexities of diversity and inclusion and simple ways to approach them.

About Avery (Pronoun She/Her Identifies as Ally)
Avery doesn’t play with matches, she makes them. Having worked with Award winning Recruitment Agencies, Start-ups, and the #1 Digital Agency - Razorfish, Avery has matched an abundance of talent to life changing opportunities over the last 10 years of her career. Having recently joined the family at as Sr. Talent Manager, Avery will have their team burning brighter as they grow from 90 to over 200 in the next year. A lover of social media, travel, and all things Recruitment, it is her innate curiosity about people, work, and what gets them out of bed in the morning that keeps her inspired. Always looking to what’s next, Avery helps leading companies navigate the world of talent, drive diversity initiatives and build a creative culture worth being a part of. It’s through this relentless focus on talent experience that she creates meaningful, lasting connections that drive growth. Avery is passionate about building inclusive work environments through pushing diversity. Diversity and celebrating people’s differences are really the core of her values. Auditing your front-end for performance and scalability
In this talk James will walk you through the importance of performance on the web, tools to audit your front-end for performance, give you tips on how to fix it all, then bringing it all back together for how to keep it that way so you can always scale.

About James (Prefered pronoun he/him, Identifies as Gay)
James Wilkinson is a Toronto based web professional. He is the Executive Director of Full Stack Toronto a non-profit providing intermediate and advanced education for web professionals, and a Team Lead at Loblaw Digital working on front-end scalability and performance of the Loblaws Click & Collect platform. James has worked with Canada's largest companies including Cineplex, Indigo, and Walmart. James is passionate about bringing together all aspects of the web from business, user experience, and technology to deliver the best experience online and off. In his spare time, James enjoys board games with friends and traveling the world
